[1:17 PM EDT - Plans for the day..]

Oh boy, it's going to be quite a busy day today. Possibly hip-hop, roller hockey, and a birthday party! Whee! Free food!!

[4:12 PM EDT - Revelation.]

Hip hop went fairly well. A little more floorwork than I had anticipated leading to a much more tiring routine. Ugh, I don't know how well I'll do in roller hockey now!

Anyway, as I was heading home in the rain, something dawned on me.

[Sunday, July 8, 2001: Drving incidents.]

Today was definitely a day of driving mishaps. On the way from hip hop, while I was waiting to turn in the left lane, the traffic going in the perpendicular direction had and advanced green, so a number of cars were turning and going past me. While I was sitting there, one of the cars started to make a really sharp turn. It was so sharp that he started heading towards me! What the..? At the last minute, he swerved around an incoming car and was able to get by the median and onto the proper road. Whoa, that was close.

On the way to roller hockey, I was so preoccupied that I missed a stop sign. I stop at this stop sign every day on the way to work! It was quite embarassing (fortunately there were no cops around at that time).

After roller hockey, on our way to the party, I ended up making a left hand turn a little too quickly, and (I was told) that an incoming car high beamed us. Hmm..

Finally, on the way back home, I was still in my daze when I heard (behind me) the familiar sounds of a car horn, screeching tires, and the crunch of metal on metal.

Not a good day for driving indeed.

Anyway, hip hop was fairly good. We thought we had a small class (of about four people) but a huge busload of kids showed up partway into the warmup. It really crowded the place up! The routine was tiring, but it was all good. Roller hockey was fairly good. We had a good turnout, and it was good to be back in the rink after a few weeks hiatus. It was too bad we had to leave early for the party, but at least I got a goal and our side won! (10-9 close game.)

The party was good. Met a lot of relatives and such. The party was for my.. uh.. nephew? Anyway, he was born last year so this is his first birthday party! The kid can sort of talk too! (Well, make noises at least.)

That's about it.
