[Tuesday, July 3, 2001: It's just as easy as.. oh nevermind.]

I got up late today. Well, late considering that the house had two seventy pound alarm clocks which get up at six in the morning and won't stop until you got up. Ah, remind me not to have children until I retire.

Anyway, the weather today was absolutely amazing. It was sunny, without a cloud in the sky, but it was also cool. You could walk around without having to worry about collapsing from heat the moment you walked out of the house, and you didn't have to worry about freezing off your limbs either! The plan (for me) was to go out and blade with MT and K while the other people went to do their respective business. A bit of confusion later, we ended up taking the kids out to the park and teach them how to bike (without training wheels). I must admit, it wasn't the first thing that entered my mind to do for the day, but it was an excellant day to learn. So, we pulled the training wheels off the bikes, put helmets on the kids heads and headed down to the park.

I still remember learning how to bike without training wheels. I had just gotten my new bike (that blue crazy thing that.. what the heck happened to it?) and it was dark (near closing time) but I got on the bike and tried to roll around on it in the parking lot. I can't remember if I fell or not, but I still remember being very proud of myself when I was able to stay balanced on my own! (Of course, I may have learned how to balance on my old yellow bike, but I really can't remember.)

Oh yeah, so back to the park. We spent most of the early afternoon teaching the girls how to bike, and the older one actually was able to pick it up! (There was quite a bit of wobbling in the beginning, but it got less and less, and eventually she was biking in circles! Triangles actually, but you know what I mean.) So, after a productive afternoon, we got ice cream (Mmm.. a chocolate sundae with chocolate syrup.. *drools*) and headed back to the house where we sat, relaxed, and watched the guinea pig mow the lawn and poo.

Yeah, poo. I woke up this morning to exclamations of "She's pooing! Look, she's pooing! Eww!". It became quite a hot topic later in the day.

Oh, I forgot to mention, breakfast consisted of western omletes, hash browns, sausages, and smoked salmon. Lots of smoked salmon. We had a (pre-sliced) filet of salmon (about a foot long) and I had half of it. I just couldn't stop eating it! It was so good! *takes another piece*

Man, what's with me and raw fish?

So anyway, it was a day of rest, and a very relaxing day at that. The wanderers returned sometime after five, so we packed our stuff and left for TO. The ride back was fairly uneventful, apart from the speed traps (one in Montreal and one near the border in Ontario), learning speeding (and slowing) tricks, and the drooling incident.

We will not mention the drooling incident.

We did end up being held up by traffic about an hour outside of the city, but we still made it home around midnight. It was an enjoyable trip all in all, and quite worth the drive to Montreal.
