[1:06 AM EST - Cards and updates.]

I got a couple of christmas cards today! One from MPS and one from T! Oh yeah, KGL (who had to drive through this horrid weather as well), Laz, and even Tiffi have been busy with updates.

[1:01 PM EST - One.]

Up and about this rather snow covered day. Laz, MJO, and NVM all have udpates up. I probably should say more, but I really want to go back to sleep. *yawn*

[1:09 PM EST - There goes sleep.]

I've been doing a bit of news reading and apart from the normal computer stuff at the ShackNews (like CPU price cuts for both Intel and AMD and obeying Moore's law for the next ten years) this article about making a crash proof computer caught my eye. It's an interesting idea, one that begs the question: "Why not uninstall Windows?" (For those of you who are wondering, it's a joke!)

Oh yeah, while I was trolling around on ZDNet, I came across this article about timed cache attacks. Quite interesting.

I didn't know you can turn on sticky keys in Win2k by pressing the shift button five times! *starts pressing other buttons repeatedly*

[3:13 PM EST - Calendar.]

I've improved the calendar script a bit. I realized that you can put more information into a calendar than just the dates. (Laz's little c's gave me this idea.) It should be a little more intuitive now. Okay, this was just a little distraction, what I really wanted to do was make the journal script a bit more efficient..

[3:50 PM EST - Statistics.]

Hmm. I got sidetracked again. I discovered a little bug in one of my scripts, so I spent the past little while making it a little more idiotproof. (Damn those ingenious idiots!)

Oh yeah, I should remember to go to broomball tonight, which means calling up Zippy to find out what the heck that boy's been doing since he hasn't shown up to broomball for nearly a month now! (Probably busy as usual.)

I'm going to write this down here for now, but I heard some bad news from Laz on Friday. Too much I have already said.

Okay, that journal script keeps calling..

[4:06 PM EST - More distractions.]

Okay, I've been pretty bad at getting around to this journal script imrpovement, but I did come across an interesting article. I found (on ArsTechnica) this Gamespot article about the use of the Delta Force 2 engine for military simulations. Considering how far FPS's have come, I'm not surprised. However, they do go on to comparing DF gamers with DF military users and that both groups would act differently because you can respawn in the gamei (and not IRL). I'm surprised that they didn't mention anything about Counter-Strike where you can't respawn..

Oh yeah, I also found out during my visit yesterday that one of the photo posters I put up in front of the office got taken down. For some reason, "The Dearly Departed" was misinterpreted as people who had actually died. (One of them being me.) I say that they should've stuck with "Previous Sacrificial Lambs", but no.. nobody ever listens to poor Zathr.. uhh.. QYV. The next incarnation would've been "The Recently Departed" but I was in a rush and couldn't change it in time.

[6:11 PM EST - Finally!]

I made the changes I wanted to make to the journal script but I don't see an improvement. Do you? On an aside, after checking out KGL's .plans, I figured that I might as well throw some of my old .plans up here (seeing as I was planning to do that for the past year). Now I'm just wondering where to put them..
