[2:01 AM EDT - Bamboo.]

I think I found a bug in BG2. In one part of the game, one of your party members will try to attack (and kill) another one of your party members (only if you have those two party members present in your party). Due to some fluke in the game, after I had saved the game in the middle of the fight, the first character wasn't going after the other character anymore. The problem was that the second character couldn't really move anymore! It was so annoying! I will probably have to go back to a (much) earlier saved game and reform my party. Sucky since both of the characters are very useful..

We went downtown to go to that Latin dancing thing I was talking about earlier. I had originally believed that we were actually going to a lesson, you know, at a dance studio and stuff right? Well, I was wrong. We headed down to the Bamboo, which is a restaurant near the pub where I attended one of the UW bridge events being held in Toronto a few years back. BSB was there (he was the guy who dragged me out), and I remember this awfully cute girl (mixed blood I think) who gave me a back rub while I was playing. She just asked me out of the blue if I wanted one. (She had not done it with anyone else that I had seen.) Dang. I should've talked with her more, but she started giving back rubs to other people in the event so I didn't feel so special any more. Too bad. Next time, I'll return the favour..

Oh, sorry. I got distracted there. Anyway, we went to the Bamboo, which is a restaurant cum bar and stage. There was a nice outdoor dining area (which was empty at the time) and a patio on the roof of the restaurant. I read over some of the news articles while waiting for the dancing to start. It wasn't long. There was live entertainment there, a band was playing some Latin music (which probably explains the cover) and people started pouring in. My lessons were basically: Find a clear spot on the floor, and follow this girl's moves. Oh goody.

She taught me quite a few basic steps, and some variations, although they all are very similar. It all depends on the music. There was the Salsa, Mamba, Cha Cha, and others. Actually, it was very much like the swing dancing thing I went to a few months back. What was more interesting were the other dancers on the floor. Watching them makes you feel very flat footed. As a beginner, it was hard to learn anything from them because they tended to mix a whole bunch of routines together and trying to follow their footwork or body movements was nigh impossible. It was pretty cool though, especially when two or three couples started dancing together and started switching partners. It was very impressive. I noticed that one of the guys in the group made a number of mistakes, but they were very good at recovering from them (from a beginner's point of view).

Man, I'm really tempted to ask CJF for some personal lessons..

(Don't worry Jax I won't, and I'm not insinuating anything!)

The Don Valley Parkway was partially closed, so we had to take an alternate route down town. I believed that the highway was open up to Eglington Avenue on the way back up, and although we weren't able to get onto the highway from Eglington on the way down, I was pretty sure that it was open on the way up. So, when we approached Don Mills Road (the street right before Eglington) I suggested that we go all the way to Eglington. In my defence, the highway was definitely open. Unfortunately, right after we passed the entrance for Don Mills, we hit a massive traffic jam. (Hindsight says: Highway closures mean lane reductions mean traffic jams. Duh!)

Oops. I think it added half-an-hour to our return time. *hangs head*

I've been snooping around and I noticed that KGL has something to say about how it's impossible to get into a platonic relationship with a guy. What the hey? I heartily disagree! But the peanut gallery may have more to say.

I've also read through Tiffi's most recent entry. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's live has gotten uneventful, but how come her uneventful life is so much more event packed than mine! ("Did you always have three?" Man, that's such a funny response, although I do feel for the guy - although I won't feel..)

In any case, it's now October and I want to go to bed.

I disagree too -- I've had plenty of platonic relationships with men.

Hey, that Latin dancing thing sounded like fun. You could have let me and AC tag along (*whines*)... As for the platonic relationship comment, I'd say that they definitely are possible. Even if it takes some lag time for "non-platonic" motives to die away first.

Quite right Laz, but all kidding aside, I think having a platonic relationship is a lot easier if the other person has a significant other (or you're not physically attracted to the other person).

Also, if you wanted to go Jax, you should've asked! (I think I mentioned Latin dancing earlier.. but I am probably mistaken.) Next time, I'll give you a shout okay?

Yes. Platonic relationships with women are lovely and fulfilling.
No honey, I can't understand why some guys want to see two women making out either.
Porn? No thanks, that just doesn't do anything for me.

Well, I didn't read your entry about Latin dancing until one day after the fact. You can't assume that everyone's as diligent about reading pages as you are! (Especially those who tend to update once a week these days). Yup, count me in for next time! BTW, could you run some of your entries through a spell checker? (*blinks innocently*)

Ah, points taken. (Of course, if you were e-mailing more often..)

<- probably not in a good position to complete that thought.
