[1:09 PM EDT - All grown out.]

FlyingS sent us a link to Emiko's Genesis with the following subject line:

Just when you thought she couldn't get bigger...

After checking out the page, AgentP had this to say about our club mascot,

"Awww, our lil' Emiko's all grown out. I mean up. ^_^*"

Yes, grown "up" indeed..

Okay, so I got up late today, stayed up a little late last night, but I'll explain everything in due time. (Sorry, but there are no scantly clad women involved.)

I was able to grab Laz, Werdna, Jax, and AC out for dinner last night. We went to the Kelsey's near Laz's place. Jax suggested that I go and make reservations so we didn't have to wait for our table. I figured that was a pretty good idea. So I went to the trusty phone book downstairs, opened to the Kelsey's page and.. Hmm, this is odd. There's no telephone number for that particular Kelsey's. Oh, oh wait. *flips to cover of phonebook* Dang! These phone numbers are only for things in Toronto! This means that I don't have any phone numbers for anything in the 905 area! Curses! What's up with that? I can find out the numberof someone living thirty kilometers away in the west end, but I can't find out the number of someone who lives down the street?!? (I live on the edge of town.) This is ridiculous! After a bit of phoning around, I was able to find out the number for that Kelsey's with a little time to spare. I made the reservation for ten after six. I figured ten minutes would be plenty of time to make it to the restaurant. (Laz was coming to pick me up at six after picking up Werdna.) There wasn't much left to do but wait..

..and wait..

..and.. wait! He's here! Checking the time, it was only quarter after six. We were still just "fashionably late" so things weren't a disaster yet. We got to the restaurant about half past, and as I got in, I saw a man standing in front of the usher complaining to the girl about finding a table. I only caught part of the conversation, but she told the man that she had to wait a requisite amount of time before freeing up a reserved table (half-an-hour I think). That was when I butted into the conversation with,

"Reservation for five?"

With that, she turned around to the guy, and made that "there you go" look, scratched off our reservation from the podium, made sure it was for the right person, and then guided us to our table.

Whew! I'd hate to be in her shoes if I were late. Speaking of late, I had hoped that Jax and AC would've arrived before we did (she told me quarter-after-six). Apparently they got held up by this and that, but no harm done. After the requisite (and non-requisite) introductions, consuming food, and animé and game talk, we headed down to my place (while Laz went to pick up his Dreamcast from his place), and we watched the first four episodes of Initial D. I think girl (who was home) was a little skeptical about a show about driving, but by the time we hit the end of the fourth episode, she joined her complaints to everyone else's complaints about showing more (okay, so I ended it on a cliffhanger, so what?). Oh man, I pulled a JCC didn't I?

Anyway, I wanted to show some Kodocha as well, so I popped that tape into the VCR. After the show started playing, girl came down with two photo albumbs. They were both filled with.. baby pictures. What?!? What kind of treachery is this?!? She then proceeded to pass them out to the audience. Noo!! <melodrama>I tried to stop them. I tried my hardest, but.. but there were too many of them! I couldn't stop them all! It was hopeless, but I tried! Oh god, I tried!!!</melodrama>

Ooh, I'm going to get that wascally wabbit! (<sing>Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit..</sing>)

Anyway, Jax and AC had to leave, and girl had a phone call, so it was left to Werdna and Laz to enjoy the strange dialogue in Kodocha. After I had shown them the four episodes, we headed down to the basement where we broke out the Dreamcast and astarted playing some games. We played until two something before someone decided to go home. (Well, it wasn't me, I WAS home!)

So in the end, despite the baby picture incident, things went well. I'll probably set something up again in the near future.

Oh well, let's see what's going on in the world today.

[5:40 PM EDT - Logan tax break.]

Hey, I just got my two hundred dollars in the mail! Whee! I'm rich! Actually, not really, the two hundred goes towards the few hundred I'm putting towards my trip to Victoria later this month, so in reality, I'm just less poor.

Oh, for those of you who don't live in Ontario, you might not know that the tax paying residents in Ontario are getting a tax break due to the booming economy (although the evonomy is cooling down ATM). The maximum (tax free) Ontario Taxpayer Dividend payment is two hundred dollars (which is about 130 USD - damn our falling dollar!).

Whether or not this extra money is just a buying votes, I'm still gonna take this money and run! *runs*

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about this, but I was shocked when I first read about this in the newspaper. With the death of Pierre Trudeau, the government wants to rename Mount Logan (the tallest mountain in Canada) to Mount Pierre Elliott Trudeau. What? I don't think so. girl sent me a link to an on-line petition to save Mount Logan. This quote sums up their position,

"Ottawa must now explain not only why Trudeau is worthy of our nation's tallest mountain, but why Sir William Edmond Logan no longer is." - Jim Beatty and Tim Naumetz Southam News; The Vancouver Sun

Although I would agree that Trudeau has done quite a bit for this country, and was a very charismatic leader, what the government wants to do is a little silly.

[10:49 PM EDT - Badminton break.]

I just came back from playing badminton. It seems I have regained some of the skill that I lost over the years. Mind you, considering how much I had to begin with, that's not really that hard of a feat. Hopefully, I'll be playing more often. I really need the exercise. *tugs at flab growing around waist*
