[Monday, October 22, 2000: All my plans thwarted!]

We got up late today. None of us had any plans for the day, and we wanted to go out to eat somwhere. Too bad none of us knew the city and had no idea where we could eat. Undeterred, we piled into the van and headed out somewhere where we thought there would be food. We drove, and drove, and drove, and drove. Unfortunately, nothing caught our attention. We eventually settled for McDonalds (ick) but not before noticing some sort of event that was taking place at the entrance to to the Tim Hortons across the street. All we saw was a tow truck, towing a car, that was stopped halfway through the entrance. In front of the tow truck was a man who was just.. standing there. Laz started to joke that the the twotruck was towing this guy's car, and I commented that it was probably some sort of showdown between the car owner and the tow truck driver. Nothing was happening, there was no shouting or honking or whatever, so we didn't pay much attention to it. Laz went to take a picture of the showdown while Werdna and I checked out the menu for a breakfast place we noticed. When he came back, he told us that the police had come. Apparently, the guy standing in front of the tow truck DID own the car that was being towed! Good grief! I didn't really believe it at first since the whole thing looked so peaceful. Eh, looks can be deceiving. (I don't think Laz ever got around to taking the pictuer.)

During brunch (if you can really call it that), there was this black guy (from Haiti) that came up to us and asked if we were Chinese. Damn it was hard to understand the guy. I think his primary language was French. I guess we ended up giving him the cold shoulder. Too bad, he was only trying to be nice.

On the way back to the car, Laz pointed to a restaurant sign and said,

"[QYV], Kum Mon!"

Oh boy, we made fun of that name for a while..

Without anything else to do, we headed downtown to walk around and see the daylife. As we were looking for a place to park, a car pulled up next to us (on the drivers side) and one of the guys in the car leaned out to ask Laz,

"How many of you are there?"

"Three."

"Then why does your license plate say 'Tea for two'?"

We found that funny at the time.

We parked somewhere in Mcgill campus, and wandered around the area. We passed by some photographers or something, and some sort of movie setup. The name of the movie was "Heist". Never heard of it.

We took pictures, Werdna and I, while Laz was lounging around. At some sort of fountain thing, we stopped to rest our weary legs. I wandered up to the top of the steps and sat down next to one of the sets of fountains. Further down, I noticed a pigeon that was hanging around some sort of object that looked like a wallet. Once it noticed me, it walked up to me, expecting some food before wandering off, leaving whatever it was guarding behind. I decided to check it out and I noticed that it was indeed a wallet. I was not quite sure what to do at that point. Should I take it with me and take it upon myself to return the wallet to it's rightful owner? Or should I leave it where it is, and hope that the owner would come back to look for it, even though there's a good possiblity someone else my come by and pick it up? I decided on the latter choice, and headed down to ask Laz what he thought. The moment that I reached him, I realized that I should've taken the wallet. Even though I would be responsible for whatever would happen, I know that I would try my hardest to return it. Besides, if I had lost my wallet, I would like to know that there are people out there who would return them safe and sound. So I headed back to the place where the wallet was, but as I was reaching the top of the steps, I saw a girl walking away from the wallet's location. Checking the spot, I noticed that the wallet was gone, and the two girls (who were giggling now) wandered off. Wheter or not it was those girls who took it, the fate of the wallet is now out of my hands. In hindsight, I think I should've taken a part in it.

It was getting late, and Laz was to go to some meeting or at least the rehersal later that day. Werdna opted to stay downtown to check out more sights, but I decided to head back with Laz to the hotel. I gave Gozer a call and he told me that it would take him an hour to pick me up since he had to do dishes. Dishes? Okay. The hour went by pretty quickly, and before I knew it, he had arrived.

Gozer and I went to a place near the hotel to play some pool. It was called Guzzo's, or at least the (Italian) family that built it was named Guzzo. It was huge, but we only went to the pool halls. The music they played there was Gino type music (although some of you don't like it, I like listening to that stuff). The waitresses there were also very well endowed. One of them looked like she was going to burst out of her tank top. The waitress who served us looked very much like KGL, except that she was probably Italian, and had a chest that was bigger than my waist. *oogles* I also found out that Gozer was much better than me at pool. After losing five games to him, he decided to call it quits. That was good since I needed to head back to the hotel to wait for theMediaman. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that. While I was on the phone, Laz called the hotel and left a message for Werdna or I to call up Dangerman and arrange to have someone at the hotel to greet theMediaman when he arrived. He was going to stay at the hotel with us, but obviously didn't have a key to the room. (We had those nifty key cards instead of normal keys.) I tried calling Dangerman's number but nobody ever picked up the phone. So I figured that I shouldn't stay out too late, which coincided with Gozer's need to go home and sleep.

After I was dropped off at the hotel by Gozer, I found out that Werdna had returned from his voyage down town so I really had nothing to worry about. theMediaman made it to the hotel without a hitch, and I went to sleep soon after.
