[10:01 AM EDT - Driving Conditions: Mesh is nice.]

We are expecting very hot and humid weather today, and since the temperature is not going to drop very much this evening, I decided to try out my new mesh jacket.

It made so much of a difference! For starters, the jacket itself is smaller and much more flexible than my textile jacket. It also allows every little breeze to make it through the fabric so that I can get the maximum benefit from and sort of wind. It makes a big difference when I am idling in a traffic jam because my textile jacket is a sauna in those conditions.

Unfortunately, when the temperature drops below twenty degrees, the jacket becomes too cold to wear on the expressways since it offers no protection against the wind. But I am glad to have it. I will have to try out my new textile jacket as well to see how it feels.

[3:16 PM EDT - Motherboard down.]

It seems as if the motherboard is history on my back up machine. I guess I will see if I can part out the system.

[11:36 PM EDT - Cheaper rate.]

Wait, you get a cheaper car insurance rate if you tell them that you do not drink? What the hey?

[Saturday, July 7, 2007: Driving Conditions: Another accident.]

So there was another accident going east on the highway again.

We took a look at the traffic cameras to determine the extent of the back up,

Apparently a tractor trailer had jack-knifed across the barrier, blocking off lanes in both the express and collector lanes.

So traffic has basically ground to a standstill while the authorities were trying to free the truck. I was pretty glad that I was not going in that direction.
