[12:29 AM EDT - It's still good.]

I had cracked open a new container of Parmesan cheese for some spaghetti I was eating and noticed that the cheese was very dark and lumpy. I took a look at the underside of the tube and saw some characters printed on the bottom:

05AU30

It's still good right? I don't think Parmesan goes bad..

Besides, I've done this before.

[12:33 AM EDT - Chain Links: She's got talent.]

I don't watch America's Got Talent, but I came across that Bianca Ryan video, and I can't believe that she's got that voice! Is she really eleven?

[4:52 PM EDT - Driving Conditions: Near incidents.]

I was driving home from my parent's place this afternoon and came across a number of incidents on the road. The first one occurred at in intersection. I was waiting at a red light behind a car and heard a loud honk. Seconds later, a Mustang that had been stopped in the other direction pulled into the intersection during the red light! I watched as a car coming from my left began making a left hand turn (and thus missing the Mustang). The car stayed one car length into the intersection until the light turned green. Fortunately for him, there weren't any other cars that crossed his path.

The second incident was at another intersection. I was waiting behind another car at a red light, when I heard someone leaning on the horn. Seconds later, I saw a minivan (coming from my left) grind to a halt in front of a pick up truck (on my right) that had started making a left hand turn. The two cars sat in the middle of the intersection with the drivers yelling and gesturing at each other while our light was green.

They were lucky they didn't hit each other, but the guy in front of me was impatient and waved the two drivers off. There was no altercation afterwards and traffic began to flow again.

Soon after, while I was driving south, I approached another intersection for which I had a green light. I watched as another minivan on my left made a left-hand turn onto my street in ahead of me through the red light! I was ready to lean on the horn, but there was a middle lane and he waited there until I passed.

A minute later, I had pulled up behind a column of cars at yet another intersection. I was several cars back so I didn't see what was going on, but I did noticed that we didn't move for the entire duration of the green light. I saw (yet another) minivan stopped at the head of the column in the middle lane (which I was in), but I couldn't see anything in the right lane, which was similarly stopped. Traffic resumed normally after the next cycle so I never found out what happened.

I was very happy to make it home alive. I don't think I'll go riding today. (How come the worst drivers come out on the best days?)

[5:03 PM EDT - Some vehicle work needed.]

I've been looking up some sites for information on integrated rear blinkers for my bike and I found one place that was selling them. I even found a FAQ on the one I was looking at. I might order one this weekend (since I'll feel a lot safer with useful signals).

I also did a bit of looking around for information on my car, and came across a very detailed site with schematics. (Although I only found them for the 2006 version.)

[6:43 PM EDT - Lights are on order.]

Well, I've got the lights on order now. I've been eyeing these stock rims on eBay. At two hundred bucks, that's a steal! (Considering one would cost me $675.)

[8:09 PM EDT - I just bought some rims with tires attached!]

Well, I was planning on getting a new rim, but I wasn't going to say no to getting four for cheap. I won the bid, so let's see when I can get these shipped up here.

[Monday, July 10, 2006: I also picked up the car.]

I got a call in the morning from the dealership informing me that my car was ready to be picked up. I drove down to the dealership and found out that they couldn't recreate the window problem (since it only occurs in very cold weather) and the part for the hatch wasn't available and was on order.

But, after the maintenance, the crunching noise was gone (it probably had to do with the brakes) and the steering wheel shake was gone, although I think I'll feel it at higher speeds as they moved the warped rim to the rear left spot.

We'll see if it bothers me in the future.
