[Monday, July 3, 2006: Another Canada Day without fireworks.]

I started the day early for some reason. I couldn't stay in bed. It might have been because of the heat.

But I got a call after lunch from SS who wanted to go riding for a while. SS wanted to have his brakes checked, so we went across the city to have his bike checked. When we got there, I was surprised to see that the place was open since it was Canada Day. We were told that his bike was fine, but he had to wear the brakes down a bit. So he got his tires checked and chain greased and we were on our way.

We were about to go look for new gloves for SS but all the cycle shops were closed. So we headed up to Unionville for food instead. While we were trying to pull in, we found out that the streets were blocked off. We rode around for a bit before giving up and finding a Tim Horton's.

While we were having a drink, I saw a car pull up and this Chinese woman comes out of the car. She looked so familiar, but I didn't make too much of it, until the guy came out from the passenger side. It was JH!

Who would have thunk? In any case, I accosted them at the entrance and we chatted and they checked out my bike before they had to go. (Something to do with food in the trunk.)

So after that, I headed down to the BBQ while SS went home.

The BBQ was okay, but I saw storm clouds approaching in the distance, so I rode back home, took a shower, and drove my car back to the BBQ. By then, it had already started raining, so I was pretty lucky that I missed out on the storm.

I headed to Windelynn's party after dinner, and I sat and listened to her (along with everyone else) rant in her drunken state. It was quite entertaining actually, but the party ended soon after I got there. I drove one of her friends home before I headed back home.
