[7:58 AM EDT - Still not good.]

Okay, this is starting to bother me. I took it easy for the past day and now it seems like my neck is as bad as it was yesterday. Normally, any muscle strains I get will disappear after a day or so, but this might be something worse. If I had torn a muscle, then I'll need a few days to recover. That would suck since I'd be stuck at home during that time (unless I take the bus, get a ride, or hazard to drive).

Well, what else can I do?

[8:03 AM EDT - About that census..]

I got a census card left at my door a few days ago. I was a little confused as I had filled in my census information months ago.

The card itself was not filled out, but there was a handwritten note on the bottom to call an Andy person regarding the census. I did, but either a modem of fax machine picked up, so I haven't called back since.

[2:22 PM EDT - Chain Links: Free BBQ!]

GWG passed along a message about a free BBQ and I was able to find the image of the free BBQ on the Internet.

[3:06 PM EDT - Madelaine's running for the cure.]

Madelaine passed along a link for donations for the CIBC Run for the Cure. She's a cutie so I how can I refuse?

Bah! Someone already made the first donation!!

[3:27 PM EDT - Another shameless plug.]

Squishy's baby sister.. okay, little sister.. (well, she's not that little.)

Uhh, Squishy's not-so-young, and not-so-small, but quite talented younger sister has been working on What It's Like Being Alone. I actually saw the creator being interviewed on Space and in the back of my mind, I kept wondering why the animation looked so familiar.. (Besides, Squishy told me about it many moons ago.)

In any case, Squishy gives it her mark of approval so go watch it already!

[Sunday, June 18, 2006: Bike dinner.]

Durka had invited everyone on the forum to a BBQ dinner at his place. I wanted to have my bike tuned up but my stiff neck was preventing me from riding that day, which was too bad.

In addition, because of my ailment, I didn't think it would be prudent of me to play hockey tonight, so I would've been in lose, lose situation anyway: If I was well enough to ride, I'd be well enough to play hockey. If I could not play hockey, I was not going to ride.

I did, however, pick up some ice cream before dinner and didn't get too lost before I found the house.

There were already a few people present including R6_Chic who I had met before but didn't really talk to. After speaking with her for a few minutes, she reminded me of NY: Hot, friendly, and sweet but a wee bit cuckoo.

More and more people began to arrive and the place had ten or so riders show up, of which only half were riding.

The steaks were cheap, but R6_Chic had brought some filet mignon, and she let me have a piece. Compared to the cardboard I was eating (made worse by the braces), it was fantastic! The ice cream made up for it though. Yay for chocolate mousse royale!

We had a good time and there were lots of bike talk and friendly jabs, and plenty of food. I stuck around until the end, although just about everyone left at once. I was patting myself on the back (with my good arm) when it started raining. Riding in the rain on a very full stomach would have sucked.
