[1:06 AM EDT - It's a little slow.]

Oh shoot. The clock I have at my desk is ten minutes slow. I think the battery is dying. I also think I should change it soon or I'll become more and more late for all of my appointments.

[1:39 AM EDT - Oh, it's also hot.]

I had trouble sleeping last night. It was so warm that I was sweating buckets with the blanket on. But it was just a bit too cold to have the blanket off! Where is that happy medium that I'm looking for?

Well, I think there's a thinner blanket around here somewhere..

[9:55 AM EDT - Driving Conditions: TTC strike.]

Whoa, I heard on the radio this morning that the TTC went on strike this morning. As in they went to strike just before the morning rush hour.

I was fortunate that I was travelling north as Avenue road was a parking lot for the entire length. That is no hyperbole, the street was packed with cars and backed up back onto the highway. I'm pretty sure most of the other major routes going into town were just as bad.

As I was travelling north on the highway, and noticed a gap in the traffic. I figured that maybe the traffic going south wasn't so bad. That's when I saw the flashing lights and the bright pylons. I also saw a charred minivan on the side of the road. My guess is that the car had caught fire some time before and the authorities had blocked off that part of the highway. That would explain the lack of vehicles, as past the incident, the highway looked like all the other routes going into town: packed.

The Star has an update on the strike.

[11:09 AM EDT - Graping bananas.]

I've been trying to finish off all that food that I've got stuck in the fridge for the past week, but I never seem to be able to put a dent into it. This morning I finished off the grapes, and the sugar rush was not a good thing this early in the morning, and now my stomach's complaining for some reason. I guess grapes aren't a good breakfast meal?

I also found out what was making that funny smell in the apartment. My parents had given me some bananas which I had left in the fruit basket. Well, they're quite ripe now. I'll have them for lunch.

[12:26 PM EDT - Nix the bananas.]

I took a couple bites from my bananas and decided that my stomach will probably not be able to handle them in it's current condition. They were so bitter! Now I can't even get rid of the taste from my mouth.

<- drinks more water.

Yuck! I need to eat something else to get rid of this foul taste.

[3:15 PM EDT - Dream Sequence: Fourth strike and I'm out.]

I had a dream that I was driving my car from work and wasn't able to stop in time for a red light. Some lady cop appeared in front of me and motioned me forward to the line, so I pulled my car up and rolled down the window. She asked for the usual information, which I gave to her and she told me that my license had been suspended due to this and prior infractions (I had gotten into an accident and had two other traffic incidents prior to this one). I told her that I wasn't surprised considering all of my prior convictions, so I asked her how I was supposed to get home. She told me that I could get a ride.

I then found myself at my place the next morning. I had forgotten that I had left the car in the middle of the road the previous night and was worried that it might have gotten towed.

[5:33 PM EDT - The stench is killing me!]

I should have put the bananas in the kitchen trash. The smell is killing me! I'm glad I'll be leaving in a little while, but I'm surprised that I didn't notice that pervasive bananaish smell in my apartment. Maybe I should have more people over so that they can pinpoint any funky odours in the condo. (Which would make cleaning that much easier!)

At least my stomach is holding out. Urp!

[8:03 PM EDT - Old transit routes.]

Hey, I was looking around here and found a couple of old TTC transit maps. One was from September 20, 1979 while the other was from May 21, 1968! It was pretty neat looking through them. I'll have to see if I can find any other old maps of the city.

Just for comparison's sake, the adult fare in 1979 was 60 cents, while the adult fare in 1968 was 25 cents!
