I had agreed to meet up with SS to go riding today. We didn't really have any plans on where to go, but decided to head East and check out the Rouge Valley to see if there were any good riding areas around there.
Along the way, I wanted to have my eyes checked and wanted to do a bit of shopping (for blinkers and oil). The optometrist was booked for the day, so that was a bust, so we went down to CycleWorld East to do a bit of shopping around there. I didn't find anything I really liked, nor could I find any 10W-50 synthetic oil. But since I really didn't have much space to put stuff, I wasn't too worried.
We grabbed a bite to eat before heading to the valley, which was decent riding, albeit short. We went back and forth through the area before heading back into town for some gas (I was running low). Then SS took the lead and we headed back east again since he heard that there was a good lakeside path to ride on. We found one, which was nice and cool (the air was much cooler near the lake and was a welcome relief to the warm air we've been plowing through).
Afterwards, we headed back into town and I went to my parent's place where girl was having a party. I got there early and after cooling down (and resting up), I went back home to take a shower and come back with the car. We had a fair number of people show up (mostly family) but still had tons of leftovers from which a large portion was given to me. I think I've got enough food to last a week!
