[Thursday, May 11, 2006: It's the bike. Chicks dig the bike.]

I took the bike to work again today. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take advantage of the good (read: cool and dry) weather today considering that the next few days is supposed to be wet.

Just as I left the condo, I got stopped at a red light in front of the high school, and this one girl crossing the street was staring at my bike, so I waved, and she waved back, with the "oh my gosh, he noticed me" look on her face.

Then halfway to work, a boy and his mom were crossing the street in front of me and the kid was staring as well, so I waved and although the kid wasn't phased, the mother looked a little abashed.

Finally, I decided to take a more direct route instead of my original path which I took yesterday and I ended up at a long left turn lane. While I was waiting for the light to change, a very familiar car pulled up next to me and the driver said,

"Gumby!"

Good lord, what were the chances of this? The one time I take this route and Pokey shows up right next to me on the street.

I'm telling you all, once you start riding a bike, people start appearing..

(It's very weird.)

[Thursday, May 11, 2006: Wings and badminton.]

We ordered wings for lunch again, and this time we had just as bad luck with our food. First of all, when EN picked up the food, they gave him one bag, which only contained half of our order. The other half was left on the counter. He had to drive back and pick it up, which took half an hour. In addition, when he got in, one of our orders was screwed up. We wanted the.. uh.. I can't remember what we wanted because I personally wouldn't have had any because it was too hot for me, but we ended up with something completely different that nobody wanted.

I also rode to badminton, which meant that I had my racquets in my bag. At city street speeds, the handles sticking out of the bag didn't pose any problems. I'm tempted to take the highway, but I'm worried that my bag would fly apart from the wind resistance. But now that I think about it, the handles are usually behind my head, so they shouldn't catch that much wind right?

Oh, and as usual, everyone at badminton was surprised that I had a bike.

I'm pretty sure the novelty will wear off in a week or two.
