[12:27 AM EDT - Chinese ING.]

I signed up for that ING account. We'll see how it goes huh?

I also finished most of my Mandarin homework. I went through the syllabus since I missed the first hour of class and realized that I should know more Chinese by the end of the course than what I learned in all the years I sat in Chinese school! (I didn't learn all that much actually.)

I paid money for this? If I wanted pain and torture, I didn't have to make my bank account pay for it too! Ah well, with a monetary investment, I'll be more inclined to work..

[9:35 AM EDT - IP Address.]

RM made a funny yesterday when he was talking about our new washroom code:

"Our new IP address is three five star."

It took me a while for that one to register. Yeah, it was bad.

[9:42 AM EDT - IE only.]

I get annoyed every time I go to a web site and realize that some critical functionality is missing because the designers only built the site for one browser: Internet Explorer. For personal web sites developed by pure Windows users, I can see that happening, but the 407ETR site was like that too! It took me day of on and off testing to realize that the changes I was making to my account were not being saved because I was using Firefox. Very annoying! *shakes fist*

[9:47 AM EDT - I was going to sponsor.]

Squishy is taking part in this year's Layout 4 Leukemia. So if anyone wants to pledge her money go right ahead!

On that note, anyone wanting to pledge money to the Heart and Stroke under my name can do it too.

Well, there was some sort of technical issue with the donation site, but it seems to be back up and running again.

[12:33 PM EDT - I am an idiot (at times).]

I went to the bank to pick up a new pass book since the old one I had was full. I got in line for the cash machine so that I could update my book and waited quite a while before the single machine was free. When I selected the pass book update function, it asked me what the last balance was so that it knew where to start.

<- left old pass book at home.

Argh!

In addition, I mailed off that cheque for my new ING account during the same errand. I noticed immediately that the mail box door thing was ajar. Peeking inside, I noticed that the mail box was full of letters, mostly from this one travel company that apparently likes to mail everything in one day. I was able to slip my letter in on the side and down into the box.

Then I remembered: It might rain today.

Looking at the box again, I noticed that the mail scoop was at such an angle that rain falling into the scoop would run off and into the box, thereby soaking all the letters. Why didn't the person stuffing the box think of that? (I guess they didn't care.) In any case, I spent the next few minutes shoving letters around so that the door would close semi-properly.

I was unable to get the door closed, but it's close enough. So long as we don't get some sort of torrential downpour.

[2:59 PM EDT - Mental Exercise: Coffee and cream.]

Here's an easy one for those itching for a physics teaser.

A waitress puts two cups of coffee down on a table for two men. The first man adds some cream and lets the coffee sit for two minutes before drinking the coffee. The second man waits two minutes before adding the cream and drinking the coffee. All else being equal, which coffee will be hotter at the time the two men take a drink?

I got this from RM.

[4:57 PM EDT - A spoiler tag.]

Laz's comment made me realize that I needed to create a spoiler class for situations where text should be available but "hidden". One can now create hidden text now with the \spoiler{} tag. (This is because there are different styles with different background colours on this site.

[11:27 PM EDT - Scene Survey: Seatbelt.]

I found the sleeping position quiz from HaremPresident's blog. Apparently I use the seatbelt.
