[12:08 AM EDT - Safety floss.]

Well, I got the bike safetied, and now I need to get some floss. The chores never seem to end!

[12:49 AM EDT - Drop down.]

I've changed the menu to use a drop down list, and I've also gotten rid of the title. (Since it's basically in the title anyway.)

It doesn't look quite right though, and I want to get rid of the hanging objects as well (or make the menu a hanging object). In any case, I think I've got a lot of work to do for this menu change, but I don't have the time tonight. I need to sleep and get up early to get the bike registered.

[Sunday, May 7, 2006: Riding fireworks.]

My plan for today was to go and get my bike registered, have my chain checked, and then go and play hockey.

Pretty straight forward.

Well, I got a message from SS that he was up for a ride, so I suggested that he come along with my registration and go down with me to get my chain checked. Coincidentally enough, he was planning on having his chain checked too at the same place!

So the plan was put in place, until Windelynn messaged me inviting us out to dim sum. I wanted to do a bit of riding, so I was able to convince SS to a change of plans. He would follow me up to a different ministry office and then I'd go to lunch.

After a bit of riding, he was probably feeling more confident and the weather was great, so he came up with me to sit in on lunch. Neither of us were hungry as we had both eaten already, but there were five other people who were out to lunch. Two of them I recognized, but the other three were new. To of the new guys were also riding SV650Ss. Small world.

I was able to convince Windelynn to bring her group along down to the motorcycle shop with us (more fun riding in a group) but the two SV650Sers didn't join us. The five of us headed off to pick up another biker before heading down to the shop. The ride was good, and I also got my chain greased and tires pumped as well!

Afterwards, we headed to the east end where the girls wanted to go shopping. (For more bike gear.) This required a trip on the highway, as there was no way we could make it there on time using the regular roads. SS was hesitant, and I hadn't been on the highway yet either, but having a large group of people to go with was probably the safest way to learn, so I jumped at the opportunity.

The ride itself was not too bad. We were stuck in traffic for most of the trip. When we did end up picking up speed, I had to continuously adjust my temporary permit as the glue wasn't strong enough to keep it attached to the wind shield. Fun times.

After the girls shopped around and didn't get anything, we headed north for some coffee. Then SS and I had to split as we had a hockey game tonight.

The ride back was uneventful, but the experience was good.

Hockey was okay. I didn't play my best, but I did play better than usual. The rink was hard to find though, and we had a fair number of late comers.

On the way back from hockey, I saw some fireworks being set off near the highway. It was really late at night (past one-thirty) so I don't know what the occasion was.
