[1:21 AM EDT - Slowly converting.]

I spent the rest of the night changing one of my scripts to produce PHP instead of HTML. I think it's working now, although I won't know until I get rid of the old files. I hope I don't break too many search engine listings..

Waitaminute. Do I really care about search engines?

[1:30 AM EDT - Dropping the pulldown.]

I've got a pulldown menu which I use to list the pages on the site. I guess I wanted to keep it around after I played around with it since.. well, just so that I could have it around I guess. With this code change, that dropdown won't work as well as I want it to, and the alternatives don't sound so satisfying. Oh well, I'll figure out something.

[9:29 AM EDT - Managing weight (distribution).]

Hmm, I've got a 407 transponder in my car, but I'm unwilling to stick it anywhere on the car. It just looks too yucky. So, I end up leaving on the dash, but the amount of static friction between the pads and dash is not enough to keep it in place when I make hard turns so I'm left to taking it off the dash when I'm not on the highway (where there aren't any sharp turns) and putting it back on when I'm getting on. It's a little irritating.

However, I think I'll see if I can drive with it on the dash. This will prevent me from making excessively hard turns or the transponder will slide off into some inaccessable part of the car, never to be seen again (for that drive at least). Will it improve my car handling ability? We'll see.

[10:21 AM EDT - It was closed..]

Since I'm basically alone in the house, I tend to assume that things that are set in a certain way in the house will remain that way when I look at it again. This morning I was passing by girl's room and noticed that her window was closed. *blink* But it was open a couple of days ago, and now that I think of it, it was closed a few days before that! Of course, the obvious explanation was that girl came by when I was out and opened/closed the window. However, the human mind does strange things when it tries to fill in the blanks when it's missing facts and comes up with a conjecture.

[10:33 AM EDT - Starting a burn.]

Last weekend was the first weekend I spent a lot of time outside this year. One thing that I forgot to mention was that BMH got sunburned on Saturday, and PRQ apparently got sunburned on Sunday. Upon looking at myself in the mirror just now, I noticed that I had some skin peeling on my nose. Not a lot, but enough to remind me that I'm not immune to the effects of sunlight, and I had a lot those two days. I'll have to be more careful in the future..

[7:02 PM EDT - It's sassy! Er..]

We had the Sasser worm floating around on the network, so I decided to disconnect myself. Actually, I disconnected because I was kicked off the desk I was on, and I didn't want to steal Laz's ethernet drop, and I get a heck of a lot more work done when I don't have the web at my fingertips..

I noticed on the way to work that gas prices have gone down despite the flood of people who went to load up yesterday. Sucky. I guess trends don't always work or prices would be predictable?

Anyway, I decided that I'd fill up the other car with gas if prices remained low when I got back from work. Well, prices did indeed remain low, so after I went to the bank, I headed out to one of the gas stations and noticed how few cars there were at the station. I pulled in and waited for a spot to open.

While I was staring at one of the pumps, I noticed that the pump for dispensing the three grades of gas was actually covered up on all of the pumps. Only the premium gas was available. Uh oh. I was debating with myself whether to leave or not, but I remembered one incident when I was getting gas a couple of years ago. The gas station had run out of the lowest brand of gas, so it priced the next brand at the lower brand's level! So, with that knowledge, I figured that I could gamble and see if the same thing happened here. I pulled up and looked. Lo and behold, the price for premium gas was indeed the same as the low octane fuel. I filled up. (I think my GT-S would work better with premium anyway.)

I found it funny to see a number of cars pulling out of the station when they noticed that the mixed pump was covered, but didn't take a closer look to see what the prices were. Mind you, maybe their cars can't handle premium?
