Hey, I just noticed that the time on my server was one hour off! *does a bit of fiddling* Ah ha! All fixed!

[12:12 AM EDT - Back to catching up.]

Okay, so I should get back to getting caught up on stuff. Since there wasn't any power at the house, I didn't have anything that could distract me. So I ended up getting some things done, like get gas (before the prices went up), pumped the tires, and picked up groceries. I forgot to change the oil, but considering how mcuh time I spent trying to get gas..

Okay, I wanted to go to the gas station to pick up gas since everybody and their dog was filling up. (A good sign that prices were going to rise - spike actually - very soon.) So I went to one and as I waited there for several minutes I finally got into position in front of one of the pumps. At that instant, the manager came out and walked to my window telling me that they had just run out of their lower octane gasoline and only had the premium blend. What?!? At a ten cent premium, I could probably put his kids through college if I filled up on that stuff! I decided to get the heck out of Dodge and went to pick up groceries instead.

While I was going around picking up some food, I remembered that this grocery store didn't take credit: cash or debit only. I only had ten bucks on me, so I ended up hiding my food on one of the shelves, ducking out of the store to get some cash, and then snuck back in and retrieved my stuff. What a waste of time!

I went to yet another gas station after picking up my food and passed by a fender bender. Well, I thought it was one except that there was an ambulence involved and traffic was backed up pretty far. Fortunately not on my side. I was able to get into that station (after some detours), filled up on gas (after a long wait) and headed back home.

The power was still out, so I decided to take a walk around the block to see if the other houses were in the same predicament as I. I didn't see any lights in any of the houses, and the street lights were off. As I was heading to the end of the bend, I saw a hydro truck pull up and stop on the side of the road. Yay! The calvalry had arrived! Unfortunately, I had badminton very soon, so didn't have time to stick around to make dinner.

Badminton was okay. I played better today despite not being able to see the bird and having my glasses fly off every now and then. I also was able to pick up some hardware I wanted to test out. We'll see if I can get this stuff installed huh?

[12:39 AM EDT - Missing links.]

Oh, since my server was down, I was unable to post some links I came across. One was the list of Simpson's lyrics I found while thinking about that turkey song that Homer sang to Marge.

The other link is Mac Hall which Derelict forwarded to me.

[10:19 AM EDT - Falling behind on sleep.]

Ugh, I sure as heck didn't go to bed early last night. My VGAP turn came in the moment I was logging off, and I just couldn't resist looking at it..

*hangs head*

[7:57 PM EDT - Well, it's official.]

I've been asked to be the patrol leader for Lakeridge next year. (I said that I'll think about it.)

Oi vey.

[11:46 PM EDT - Man it's warm.]

Boy is it ever warm today. It feels more like a day in July than a day in May! I don't mind though. I would like to turn on the air conditioning however. But I'm out to save on electricity and cooling the house for one person's sake doesn't seem worth it. Besides just opening a window *opens window* helps a lot. (I didn't live without air conditioning for most of my life without learning to bear it! *sweats*

I took a little stroll to pick up the mail today. On the way to the box, I heard the distinctive sound of a car backing up very quickly. This went on for while some time so I looked around to see what was going on. There was a blue Civic backing up on my street. It must've passed me, but it had stopped and pulled back until the occupants came into view. The moment their eyes caught mine, I realized that they (or at least the girl) had thought I was someone else and they made a quick getaway.
