[9:19 AM EDT - Doesn't seem like the end.]

Well, I'm going to be busy. Well, I say that all the time, but I foresee business (with a capital busy) being a constant in the near future. Oh hurrah.

[9:53 AM EDT - Definitely a reduction.]

Well, I've seen a sharp reduction in the number of garbage entries in my Apache logs. I still get a couple every now and then though. It's kind of odd how some of these guys snuck past the filter. I'll have to figure out why it didn't work for these exceptions.

[3:55 PM EDT - Skid marks.]

I wrote down a number of things on Wednesday that I never got around to posting. One was actually about something I noticed on the weekend which I had forgotten to mention.

On the highway, I would see skid marks all over the road and wonder what sort of situations could've occured to have caused the driver to brake so suddenly. Most of the time, the tracks are double wheeled, indicating that a tractor trailer or something just as large had tried to stop as quickly as possible. I was staring at one set of skid marks on the highway on my way downtown and followed the trail until it stopped at the side of the road. There was a tractor trailer right there and had just recently stopped! It was there long enough so that I would've missed the initial incident, but I had completely not expected to see anything there! What are the chances?

While out at a client site, I overheard one of the guys say on the phone:

"If my aunt had balls, you'd be my uncle."

That took a while for it to sink in.

Oh yeah, during one of my coding breaks, I looked out the window and watched in amazement as this large crane thing was moving scrap from one pile into a container. The operator was moving the machine as if it was an extension of his limb! The control of the arm was fairly precise and very quick, and seemed too agile for a piece of machinery. It's amazing what these big things can do..

[5:10 PM EDT - Some movies.]

BMH sent links for some movies to download. The first has Takes on Toronto while the second one about When I Grow Up (a Monster.com ad).

[5:13 PM EDT - The Condor Sword.]

I've been meaning to look up some terms used in the books that I had from the "Return of the Condor Heroes" and came across an article on the Xuantie Sword in addition to what a jin and li were. (Half a kilo for both.)

[10:25 PM EDT - That's why it doesn't work.]

Ah ha! I figured out why my log clobbering script wasn't working all the time. It was taking out the Nimda/Code Red entries but not the WebDAV ones because I had a slash at the beginning of the regular expression! (I thought it was part of it.) Okay, I've taken it out and cleared out the logs (I'm parsing out all local hits as well). My logs are MUCH smaller now. Let's see if this makes a difference..
