[9:23 AM EDT - A wolf cub is still a wolf.]

After going through those "Naruto" eposides, I started reading through some "Lone Wolf and Cub" that Laz lent to me. The story is old, and the artwork is fairly primitive, but the story is quite engrossing. It's a long read, but the stories are fairly unique and there is a lot of depth.

It'll be a long read though. It took me an hour to get through the first volume, and there are around twenty that I've got (I think).

[10:03 AM EDT - Are you an ephebophile?]

It's official: I've got spam in my spam account. Now, this shouldn't be very interesting news seeing that I actually have an account set up to receive spam, but I've had this account for many years now and I've been very careful with the places where I use this account. It's only in the past month or so that I've started getting a constant stream of crap. I think it's averaging at twice a week. Not so bad by many accounts, but for someone who never got spam, it's a lot. It's a fairly consistent subject though, which is worrisome.

The problem is that I've actually started using my spam account as a secondary account for legitimate lists and signups, and if I change the account, I'll have to change all of those lists. Hrumph. So much for my "throw-away" account.

[Thursday, June 3, 2004: She took my card.]

The plan was for me to go to badminton, and hook up with the rest of the crew for some bowling later tonight. Unfortunately, plans don't always go the way you want them to.

I ended up staying late for work as we had a lot to do and a lot more to work out. But I needed to go to badminton so that I could pick up money for pledges for the Ride for Heart. I decided not to go home to get my stuff and went straight to the community centre instead. I had hoped to grab everyone as quickly as possible, but it took me an hour to flag everyone down and squeeze them for pledges. I actually got a lot more than I had expected, so I was pretty happy about that, but I was running quite a bit behind schedule..

I made it home for dinner. girl and Dangerman were over but they didn't want to go bowling. I ended up leaving around the time I was supposed to arrive so I was about half-an-hour late. I found the bowling alley without any problems and wandered inside.

I walked in and didn't have any problem finding our group. I was a little stunned to see that I recognized so few people. Actually, there were few people to begin with, but I only recognized half of them! Derelict, TT and SN were there, as were a couple of SN's friends. (Who were kind of cute actually.)

I asked TT,

"Where is everyone?"

Since we had expected a dozen or so people to show up. He told me that

"Everyone canceled, all at once!"

Which seems very.. sad.

I tried my hand at a game, but I sucked pretty badly. I didn't even break a hundred! *hangs head* SM came by later, but didn't participate in the game.

We decided to call it quits after that game, and TT, Derelict, SM and I went out for some food and drink.

I had a good time actually. It's been a while since I just went out to chat and chow down. (Well, that's what I did on Thursday's with the Vermont crew.) So many work related stories were shared and a lot of SM picking. She showed us this one picture of her when she was a kid and TT commented.

"Wow, she's so cute!"

To which SM replied,

"That's me!"

To which TT and I came to the same (obvious) conclusion:

"What happened?!?"

Ahh.. everything's a joke when TT is around.

Eventually, we had to call it a night. I think everyone needed to release some steam..
