[Saturday, June 12, 2004: No internet.]

I got up on time and had some breakfast. The food wasn't particularly good, although their cinnimon bun french toast was interesting (although not that good). The drive was good and fast. I had a guy behind me pushing me to go at crazy speeds down the highway! Despite the winding roads, he was egging me on at freeway speeds! Mind you, I generally try to maintain constant speeds, but he would speed up in the straights and slowed down in the bends (which is safe if you exclude the speed).

Oh yeah, I forgot my deodourant. As long as I don't sweat all too much, I'm all good. Right?

I wasn't able to get any internet access while at work. Combine this with the fact that I have no internet connection at night, and that means that I'm out of touch! Doh!

Anyway, the work went fairly well. When I went back to the hotel, I found out that my key didn't work. So I went to the front, and walked down the length of the building only to find out that my key didn't work on my room either. SO I walked back to the front, just to hear the two women at the desk yelling at each other about something that started working again. I informed one that my key didn't work, and she suddenly went into hospitaliy mode and gave me this "yes I know what you mean" look and reset my card.

I didn't have any plans for tonight, so I passed by the pamphlet rack and noticed two things. One was the aquarium that DP told me about, and another was a thing for a German restaurant. (There was only one dish I wanted to eat, but she was only half German!) I called in for the aquarium and found out that it closed at seven (it was nearly seven). Instead, I decided to follow DG's directions and go to the mall. Afterward, the plan was to go to the German restaurant.

Things didn't go so well. I didn't write down the directions to the mall, except for the fact that it was on Mall street. I headed down the road looking for this street. After fifteen minutes, I figured that maybe I went in the wrong direction, so I turned around and headed the other way. Indeed just a couple of minutes after passing my starting point, I found Mall street. So I turned in and looked for the mall. He never told me that there were lots of malls in the area! There was a Plaza, a Center, the Heights.. but I was looking for the Mall. After ten minutes of driving around, I finally found the mall I was looking for.

I picked up some post cards and some batteries for my camera. Noticed a store called "Lazarus". Then I headed for the restaurant. It was pretty empty when I got there, but the food was okay. I asked where the closest post office was, and one guy who had just walked in gave me directions to the building. Of course I didn't write them down, but I had a vague idea where I was supposed to go so I decided to hope that my sense of direction helped me this time. The area was a little slummy, and the post office was closed. The doors were locked and there was a notice on the door mentioning that the post office would not be delivering mail on Friday as it was a day for mourning for Regan's death.

As I didn't have anything else to do, I headed home.
