[12:10 PM EDT - For seeing over time.]

Great. I know what I have to do, but I also have an idea how long it will take for all the stuff I "need" to have done. It's more than the time I've got. Sucky.

No pressure.

[12:48 PM EDT - Do you want pecan pie?]

There are times when I've had issues with people miscommunicating when it comes to foods. One time many years ago, I was at my aunt's place and one of our cousins came into the living room while we were watching TV and asked if any of us wanted spaghetti. Well, it was really late at night, and girl and I weren't in the mood for spaghetti for a midnight snack, so we turned down the offer.

Minutes later, we caught the scent of something familiar. Looking into the kitchen, we saw that MT was actually making instant noodles! Both girl and I clambered up to her asking if we could have some, and she looked cross when she told us that she had already asked us if we wanted any. We looked a little confused but then realized that her "spaghetti", was our "instant noodles"!

Of course, there are other situations involving my family and food miscommunication. The most recent was from last night when we were talking over dinner. I mentioned that I picked up some baklava from the party I went to on Saturday. My dad thought that it had pecans, which although can be used, the most common nut in baklava is usually walnut. I mentioned that little bit of (useless trivia) and left it at that.

I forgot about that conversation, and went about playing Halo. Later that night, I got a call from my dad asking me if I wanted any pecan pie. I was a little preoccupied, but I did do a double take: I didn't remember seeing any pecan pie in the fridge. I decided to let it slip and declined the offer.

This morning, I came downstairs and saw the empty box that held my baklava on the counter. Then the truth dawned on me. I was shaking my head and chuckling to myself until I left for work. (There's still some left so I'm not too annoyed.)
