[1:30 AM EDT - It's a matter of trust.]

Well, I didn't play all that well tonight, but I didn't suck that badly either. In any case, we still lost the hockey game.

I got some pointers from BL on what to do if you're ever in a fender bender. Always get the other's information. By law, you're required to hand over the information if asked. Otherwise, you can call the cops. If you don't get the person's information, they're not obliged to pay you a cent if you ask for damage retribution. Normally, cops aren't involved unless there's damage over a thousand dollars.

So, bottom line is: get the information. If the person looks seedy, don't bother going for a quote, tell the insurance agency right away since you'll never get your money anyway. Finally, if it's a really tiny dent and the person doesn't look like he/she's going to pay, then it might be easier to just forget about it.

Something to keep in mind.

[Sunday, June 6, 2004: Busy?]

I got up late this morning. I wanted to wake up early so that I could check in and get my pledges in for the Ride for Heart, join in with the ninjastars game, check out the condo, and then get my car in for a quote on the handbrake.

Well, obviously things started going wrong when I could get myself out of bed. I was just way too tired (and sore, and in pain, and..).

I was able to get my pledges in and picked up one of those long sleeved wickaway shirts. It's just like my ninjastars shirt except that it's long sleeved. Long sleeved and has black. Long sleeved, has black, and has a Ride for Heart logo instead of a ninjastar. Long slee.. nevermind.

I rushed to the game and ended up going into the rich part of town. I headed west on Lawrence and forgot that it didn't go all the way to Bayview, so I ended up going onto the Bridal Path, and Post road. The houses were so nice! But I ended up arriving just in time to watch them leave. I didn't have anything else to do at the time so I went and joined in on lunch.

After lunch, I headed out to the condo and looked around. It's nice. Ideal for one person, and a little tight for two. But doable. We'll see how things go.

When I got out to leave, I found out that someone had parked in front of me. Unfortunately, the person behind me was only one foot away from my bumper, and the person in front of me parked one foot away from my bumper, and a foot away from the curb! Argh! I was completely wedged in. I figured that this would be a good time to test my parallel escape skills. After several minutes, I was able to move myself about six inches from the curb. Basically, I was stuck. I wasn't sure if I should continue or if I should wait for the person to come and move the car when this man came up to me and asked me if I wanted to get out. I nodded of course, and assumed that he was the drivers of one of the cars.

I was wrong.

He came up to the car, and told me to turn the steering wheel. So I did, but he told me to turn the steering wheel the other way! (To point the rear of the car towards the curb and back up.) So I did, and realized at that moment that I was free! I was able to turn out of the spot and escape to freedom!

Now remember that I was against the curb so I couldn't have used that trick until I was far enough away from the curb to give me the space required to get myself out of there, but it's something I'll have to remember if I'm ever in a tight spot. (Pun intented.)

I got home and was able to convince my dad to give me a ride from the mechanic's where I dropped off the car. I wanted to see how much the hand brake will cost to get fixed as anyone buying my car will need that fixed first to get it certified.

girl found out that the reason why her computer kept crashing was because of the integrated video, and not the processor! (This might explain why the other motherboard kept dying as well.)

I got a number of calls regarding the Ride for Heart on Sunday so I decided to get dinner organized so that we didn't have to play phone tag with everyone in the group. Derelict, Laz, girl, Dangerman and Werdna were able to come out and we hammered out a plan.

Our waitress was expecially spunky today. I was amazed as to how outgoing she was. Werdna probably liked her, since he left such a HUGE tip! (We made him take back some of it though.)

The plan was to go home and sleep so that we'd be fresh the next morning. I went home to watch some Kenshin that Derelict lent to me..
