[12:28 AM EDT - A link.]

Hey, I found this link on how the net held up during Tuesday's mess. I also noticed an article on ArsTechnica about the possible loss of privacy in the future. The airline industry (and indeed, many industries) rely a lot on trust. How do we enforce that trust without losing out on privacy? Would you rather have life be more secure, albeit less convenient? (Although the way MS is going at making everything as convenient as possible but losing out on the security.. but I'm going off topic here.) Convenience. Security. Those two aspects of life are not always mutually exclusive, but usually are. Our economy has flourished due to the easilly accessable transportation, capital, and whatnot. I dunno.. I'm personally a secure freak, but that only comes with computers. I'm also a privacy freak, and I'm not willing to be tracked so that the big brother knows I'm not a terrorist. This is the price we pay for the freedoms we have. We can improve our security while minimizing our freedom limitations, but unless you're willing to create big brother, any organization that's willing enough to throw lives away for the sake of a cause will be able to find a way around any security system.

[9:45 AM EDT - Recovering.]

Man, these two days of rest have really helped out with my sore joints. Wounds have been healing nicely methinks. *looks at scabs* Too bad I woke up late today and forgot to shave. *rubs stubble* Ah well, it's not like I'm on a date or anything.

[10:12 AM EDT - Privacy, shmivacy?]

I found an editorial on the privacy issue on ZDNet. If I remember correctly, there was a story about a nation that was caught up in a war, and needed to impose some restrictions of freedom to protect the people. But the war never ended and the people became used to the oppression. That was seventeen years ago though, so what are the chances of it happening? *smirk*

[12:49 PM EDT - Tiffi's thoughts.]

Well I'll be. Tiffi's still alive! I haven't checked up on her recently, but it seems like she too has some comments about Tuesday's attack. (Methinks it's time to update those links huh?)

[11:33 PM EDT - Patrolling the slopes.]

Well, I came back from the first Ski Patrol meeting just a little while ago. You know, sitting in one of those is like being a neophyte at a old boy's club. Lots of injokes are flying around, and the poor rookies are lost and confused. Ah well, as they were going through the history of the Ski Patrol, one of the rookies collapsed and fell unconcious. A minute later, some guy with a Ski Patrol coat walks in asking what happened. (At this point, I realized that it was all a setup.) Then more people came in to check on the unconcious victim and they began to administer first aid, etc. It was a good demonstration of the expectations and procedures for a Ski Patroler. I've also been informed that Ski Patrolers will have to be a proactive helper in any emergency situation since we will also be trained in First Aid. Goody. Of course, I've taken First Aid a few times already, but a refresher is always good (I've forgotten everything already). I'm going to try it out, you never know what interesting adventures may be in store for me huh?

I've been working on a new format and still haven't come up with anything good. Graphical designer I am not. Ah well, at least I've got CSS on my side.. I think.
