[11:21 AM EDT - I am..]

I got up late today (again) and finished off two more pop-tarts (ick). *yawn* I've been staying up too late for the past couple of days. Well, I probably shouldn't be since the only things I was doing was playing cards and reading. Actually, it's more than just playing cards, we're playing poker. For money. Pennies actually. After losing more than fifty cents over the first couple of nights, I decided to not tempt Lady Luck and become a fulltime dealer. It wasn't all bad. We had first played draw poker, but once I started dealing, I introduced them to stud poker (much more interesting).

Actually, during my losing streak, one of the professors who was watching us noticed that one of the players (another professor from UBC) was cleaning house. He had just taken most of what I had left and the observer noted

"You should never play poker with a Canadian."

To which I replied

"I am Canadian!"

much to the humour of those around us. (It is at this point I decided to quit.)

I've also finished The Two Towers and am deep into The Return of the King. It's so hard not to continue reading with all the events going on in the story. I had to pull myself away last night and this morning so that I could sleep and check e-mail respectively.

I've fixed the spelling error I had on the portal pages. Oops. I also cleaned up the comments a bit. Oh yeah, MJO, the picture of Max is actually in the west coast trip picture gallery.

There are updates of course, but I'm a little pressed for time to go over them all. Check out the usual suspects.

Oi, this Macintosh version of Netscape is making everything look a little funny. Geez.

Okay, I should get going, but for those of you who think I only see Squishy in the faces of people that I see, one of the professors down at the symposium looks like DWC! Really! He doesn't sound like him, but it still caught me off guard.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I'll have to go over my notes later (if there's time) but we'll see.
