[5:50 PM EDT - Breather.]

I don't have much time. There's a rather long lineup of people who are itchin to check their e-mail and dinner is going to be served in ten minutes, but I wanted to put something here so that people know that I'm alive. (Too bad huh?)

Anyway, I'll put up a full recounting of the past couple of days, but I just finished painting part of a mural (My signature is in the palm of the last hand of the mural) and I need sleep (and a shower).

Alright, this should be enough for now. Hopefully weirDo will entertain you with another problem to solve..

[Wednesday, July 5, 2000: Art Trek.]

I woke up early today. The temperature was so low that I woke up around six because it got so cold in my sleeping bag. Breakfast is served between seven and eight-thirty (way early for me) and I tend not to miss any free meals if I don't have to. We were given a continental breakfast which disappointed me a little, because I was hoping for something warm, considering how cold the morning was.

We spent the morning working on some National Trek Team Workshops. These were basically team exercises where we learned to work as a group, and learned more about each other. We did skits, we made machines, and the best thing we did, was to solve the toxic island puzzle. (I'm not sure if any other team was able to do that!)

It was fun, and I think everybody in our group enjoyed it. However, we were faced with the problem of coming up with a group cheer. Just about all the other teams had cheers, and since we blanked for so long on our team name, we never had time to come up with a cheer of our own. Eventually, Scott came up with a variation on the Ausie - Oi (or Water - loo.) chant. It was okay (Outta - Blue), but I thought we could do better. We didn't. I was going to suggest "Deep in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, you can hear the Trekkers rally" but it wasn't really a group chant. Ah well.

The afternoon was spent working on the Art Trek Banner. I helped out on a couple of panels, although I didn't really have much in the way of originality. The banner would later be put up on the Alexandra bridge for Canada Day, and eventually would be touring around the world! Cool huh? One of the panels that surprised me the most was this rainbow, which had an upside-down American Flag. The kicker was that it was also burning. Scratch that up for politically incorrect (it was painted over before the banner went up). All in all, the entire banner looked pretty spiffy, hopefully, I'll have some pictures of it up sometime soon.

It started raining on the way back to camp. I had a lot of extra time, so I played soccer outside (in the rain) with a whole bunch of other crazy soccer players. It was pretty darned fun! It did completely soak my clothes and my shoes, but I still had my sandals, so things weren't so bad.

I made a couple of phone calls to see if AN and AgentP were in town. It seemed as if AN was back in Toronto, but AgentP was available for Canada Day. Kewl.

Being tired and a little wet, I took a shower and went to bed early.
