[Wednesday, July 5, 2000: Independence Day.]

There isn't much to talk about today. I spent most of the day sleeping. I was planning to call in sick, but by the time I got around to it, it was already past six. Looking at the wounded foot, HNT noticed that the bruises were on the right hand side of the foot, which indicated that one of the ligaments to my big toe was stretched or torn. That made pretty good sense seeing as my big toe would've been the first to have been hyper-flexed during the accident.

While I was lying in bed, I realized that it was times like these that it would be nice to have a girlfriend. It's such a pain when you can't do very much on your own, and it's annoying to be a burden on others.

At least I was able to finish the Simarillion, and thus ended my study of The Lord of the Rings. I realize now how many similarities there were between Lord of the Rings and Babylon 5. I'm not saying that they're the same. Far from it. It's just that Babylon 5 seemed to borrow a number of elements from Tolkein's work.

I didn't do much today. Cleaned up my room a bit and finished unpacking. I still have to do laundry, but that's the only other major chore I have to do. Perhaps I'll start reading Zen in the Art of Archery soon.
