[9:28 AM EDT - Dream Sequence: Nice day.]

It's pretty nice outside, although a little cloudy. It's funny how much skill you lose when you don't do something for a while, and this is what happened when I bladed to school yesterday. It felt a little akward for the first couple of minutes. Maybe if I had been blading for longer periods of time (as opposed to going to school and back) I might actually learn how to use these things more skillfully, but eh. *shrug*

I had a bizarre dream, which led to a strange scenerio. I'll state the scenerio.

You're sleeping at home with your spouse. Some sort of noise wakes you up and a little worried, you both get up to investigate. You pick up a gun that you own and walk downstairs. There you see a burglar who's holding a gun and going through your stuff. He doesn't see you come in, so you train you gun on him and tell him to drop his piece. He turns around, and seeing that you're armed, drops the gun. As the gun hits the floor, it goes off accidentally and shoots your spouse (who is right next to you) right through the heart (and dies instantly).

What do you do now?

This wasn't in the dream that I had, but it was very similar.

Hmm.. seeing as I'm a little early today, I should start clearing out stuff from my notebook. The first thing I would like to mention was that I saw this documentary on the tank a few weeks ago. Apparently, when they were first developing and producing these vehicles, they wanted to keep it so much of a secret that they told the production workers that the large metal containers they were making were actually water tanks. Since then, the name stuck.

I watched 'The Helstrom Chronicles' last night. Does anyone know who Nils Helstrom was?

Something I like to point out from my trip last week that Laz and Growly may have forgotten. During dinner, Growly (who was in the middle of a discussion with a couple of other people) asked me if I liked orientals. I thought that was a silly question, since I have no preference. That's when I found out that some people do have preferences. (Well, I knew of one person's preferences already, but I just thought she was a freak =) I had thought that growing up in such a multicultural society, one would drop their racial preferences (somewhat at least). At least that's what happened with me (I thought). But I guess it's also how you're raised, and what your exact environment is like. I dunno, I've never really given it much thought since I thought everyone else was like me: Indifferent. Of course, North American television tends to show mostly nubile, young, white women.. Hmm..

[9:50 AM EDT - The word spreads.]

Apparently, the story our little detour back from Columbus has started to spread. Funny how stories like that tend to travel. I'll have to write it up at some point in time.

weirDo just walked in, wondering why I was so early.

"Did you sleep here?"

So I said,

"No, I was awake all the time."

Hey, if you ask a silly question..

[10:58 AM EDT - No!!!]

Microsoft has bought Bungie. I first read about this on ArsTechnica. What has this world come to? There's no concrete news yet if Halo will be brought out on the PC or Mac, or if it's going to be an X-Box only game. Also, chances are that if it does come out for both, it will be delayed while they port the game over to the X-Box. You can find news about it on all the major computer news sites.

BTW, for those of you who haven't seen the new trailer, I highly recommend downloading it.

[4:37 PM EDT - Thermodynamic hornets.]

Lunch at Louie's again. Nothing much, except that I got the the restaurant first to grab a table while weirDo and Dusty were acquiring money. While I was sitting there, FlyingS came up and said,

"What are you doing here?"

To which I replied,

"What are you doing here?"

Seems like he went out with quite a few people from his workplace for a farewell feast for one of his coworkers. What a coincidence huh? (They probably didn't get the toonie burgers though.)

I heard a shout from weirDo's room and wandered in to see what was happening. weirDo had a little problem with a hornet, or wasp, or something (I'm no entomologist). It had flown in his window and was casually walking around on one of the panes of glass. Not having much love for these types of creatures, weirDo rolled up a roll of paper and struck the insect. On the release, the insect flew towards us, and with a scream, we bolted out of the room (with me shouting "You idiot! You idiot!"). I ran into my room, and weirDo ran into his old room and closed the door. After a few seconds of breathless silence, I looked out into the hallway to see that the flattened remains of the wasp was lying on the ground. Very much dead (especially after weirDo stepped on it on the way back).

What interested me was the colour of the wasp. It had a metallic blue skin and it's wings were dark blue/violet wings. I had never seen a wasp like that before, but it's very cool to look at. Ooh! It's still alive!

*watches weirDo roll his chair over the poor creature*

"Oh that's gotta hurt."

Okay, it's really dead now.

Ah yes, about thermodynamics. There's a metal plaque in weirDo's room with the thermodynamic equation:

0 = SdT - VdP + S nidmi

It's very durable and seemed very out of place in the office. weirDo told me that it apparently was a plaque that was made in 1948 and was supposed to go up on one of the buildings at the University of Toronto. However, after many years, nobody had bothered to put it up, so RJL ensconced it and brought it here, and that's the rest of the story.

[8:51 PM EDT - Dark.]

There's an awfully dark cloud hanging over us, so I better head out. I've been playing around a bit with showing the most recent comments in a list, but it's taking up too much space. I might just add a link so people can check on their own.

I found out that our first (last?) playoff broomball game is tomorrow night. Let's see how we do huh? I plan to head back to Toronto this weekend, but it conflicts (sort of) with the next CTRL-A show. Hmm.. decisions, decisions. It's times like these when having a car is convenient.

What else? I think that's it. I should head back ASAP.
