I had a little discussion with weirDo yesterday about calling me a postgrad. I wondered what differentiated someone who's graduated with a Masters, as opposed to someone who graduated with a PhD? Clearly, weirDo said, someone who has a PhD is a postdoc. So I asked him why I wasn't a postmaster?

Yes, I think I will move the recent comments off to another link. It looks too yucky the way it is now, and I can't think of a good way of displaying them without looking out of place. Wah.

How about taking out the date and time, and replace it with the first 5 words or say 15 characters of the comment?

Also, you should only put the extra line between each comment, not between the comment and date/author line. It's too difficult to figure out which goes with which otherwise.

Hmm.. I think I might just steal this idea!

Looks sharp with the date and name on the same line - it's much cleaner than before.

I think the "Recent Comments" should go after "Today's Comments" on the same column!

Putting the comment list on the bottom means that it'll move around as people add comments. That might be annoying, but I'll have to look into it. I'm also leaving the 2000 in the date because not all comments will be made this year (which is the main reason why I'm putting in the list in the first place!). For example, those comments during our trip to the west coast. Nobody would've known about them if I didn't mention them. Now at least they can see..

Ok... reason I didn't like the '2000' was because I'm stuck with 800x600 resolution and a small browser window (do you realize how well neon green on black shows up an an office monitor?)... purely selfish reasons. :P

Ahh.. I understand now Jax. Well, you're right, at anything smaller than 800 by 600, the page starts getting a little cramped. (I never had that problem when I was only using a single column but hey..) If you have any other suggestions to save space, I'm all ears! (Or if you know of any cute, young, single, nubile girls, I'm all hands ;)

[10:14 PM EDT - Out of the playoffs.]

We lost. The game was very close, but we lost by a score of 1-0. It's really too bad. We were hoping to play against Riston's team in the semi-finals. That's alright though, we had a pretty good season despite how green our team was. Hopefully they'll improve over the years since I won't be back to play for them. *knocks on wood*

Riston's team did win their game (4-0). It was a little dirty, actually I think it was only one guy who was the main troublemaker. I got to talking to that girl from the other team (the one with the high pitched scream), and took a number of photographs during the game. I'll have to get around to developing them soon.

I'll continue working on the comment list thing, but hopefully I'll finally get around to putting up a confirmation page for the Guestbook script and comment script. That should prevent (or at least limit) people from doing the double entry thing.

Thanks for all those suggestions for the recent comment list. It does look much better now than it did before. (God was it ever ugly before.) Hopefully I'll try to improve on it a bit more, but I really should be doing other stuff..

I've been reading through some updates. Laz and Jax both have one. Jax's entry is very.. Geez, I can't figure a word for it (I'm in a rush if you can't tell), but I think I have some things to say about that. Tiffi's most recent entry is a little sad (and is also another topic I should talk about), but I'm sure she'll be okay!

Okay, I don't have time, I gotta meet some people (and TA3 - yeesh). I'll be back tomorrow.. we'll see if I'll be a little more introspective..
