[12:00 PM EDT - No subject.]

It sure seems as if I wasn't able to make it back from the CTRL-A dinner last night. The sun looks deceptively benign with so many clouds in the sky, but it should be common knowledge by now that enough UV radiation will penetrate the clouds to give you a nasty burn if you're not careful. Hopefully the BBQ will go well today, there shouldn't be any rain.

I forgot my wallet yesterday. Actually, I thought that I had lost it somewhere, but when I went back home to check, it was on my desk, as was my lucky charm thing. One would think that after so many years of habitually putting a wallet in your pocket, you wouldn't forget. Something to keep in mind.

Oh yeah, Sabeesh's comment on my name. He was telling me how he didn't know anyone with a name ending in -ing. It's as if I'm in the present tense and the past tense would be []-ed. Future tense would of course be Will-[]. Then I asked about Will Smith, which would lead to Smithing in the present tense and Smithed in the past. Ah, whatever.

RHS actually wanted to throw the Frisbee around a bit yesterday, which is a change since he usually goes back to work right after lunch. Unfortunately, my Frisbee broke, and it started to become something of a hazard unless you were wearing protective gloves. HaremPresident offered his Frisbee a while back, so I might go and take it off his hands..

ShadowWhyspr and Lizard didn't show up at the CTRL-A show yesterday. It had slipped my mind to remind them of the room change. (We showed it in AL instead of EL). I was half expecting them to check the posters that should have been plastered everywhere, but I can picture them now, ShadowWhyspr complaining that the show is usually in EL, and wouldn't know what to do..

Then again, they might not have come at all.

Speaking of things that didn't go quite as planned, we ordered way too much pizza (we had to take a loss), we forgot to tip the pizza delivery guy, and one of my dishes wasn't ordered during dinner (my soup was ordered though). Gah. I didn't starve per se. I was lucky enough that CK didn't like non-crunchy noodles because at the end of dinner, she still had this huge pile of noodles on the middle of her plate so I asked

"Aren't you gonna eat that?"

Well, just before she finished answering that question, I was all over those noodles, and the rice that was left on the.. uh.. turning table.. I know it has a name but I forgot it ATM. At least I didn't starve.

And here I am, waiting for things to get rolling.

[4:00 PM EDT - After anime.]

Well, that was fun. The CGSS BBQ went quite well despite the fact that a few people that I had expected (and wanted) to show up didn't. I was surprised that the number of staff and faculty that showed up equaled the number of grads that came (more than a dozen), which made for a fairly even softball match. (Which we lost by a run, but next year we won't go easy on them!) The weather mostly cooperated for us, seeing as it didn't rain, but it stayed cloudy throughout the afternoon. All in all, it was a very good event, and we should probably try another one next year.

Funny though, when I made it back to my office right after the BBQ, the sun came out of the clouds and the sky cleared up. Who would've thought?

The CTRL-A show was pretty good as well, we were able to finish off Giant Robo (finally!) and that seemed to go over very well. The last episode was quite interesting..

I should get some food and rest and prepare for the broomball game tomorrow. I'm really tired, but there's someone I need to talk to..
