[12:18 PM EST - Traffic Conditions: Stop on. Stop off.]

I think this is the first time that has happened to me on my way to work. I stopped before I got on the on ramp. Traffic had backed up from the highway all the way to the last traffic light before the on ramp, and nobody was moving. There has been construction in that area since the summer, but I have gotten used to the slow down in traffic (actually, it has been helpful since it makes it easier to merge), but today was really bad.

I sat in line for a number of minutes before we moved forward, and only very slowly. There was probably something going on at the next off ramp, which ended up slowing traffic all the way back to where I was and beyond.

I did squeeze through eventually and got out of the area as quickly as possible.

When I got off the highway, I was met with a similarly long, and quite uncommon, line up to exit. At least everything in the middle was fast.

[Wednesday, February 14, 2007: That is not much of a sale.]

We had a winter storm warning for the evening as a large snow storm was headed in our direction. The storm was originally supposed to hit in the afternoon, but was later pushed back to arrive in the evening. This was good, since I wanted to go home in relatively good weather.

A whole bunch of us went out for drinks since GWG planned to drop by the area. We went across the street for a little food and drink before going our separate ways. The timing was good, as the snow had only started to fall that hour, and I was able to make it home with some time to spare before broomball.

Broomball itself was okay. I wanted to go easy since it was my first game since I rested my wrist, but it is hard not to try hard when you're in the middle of a game. The storm didn't stop all that many people from showing up, but traffic was relatively clear as a lot of people elected to stay indoors.

I decided to fill up on gas after the game, and then to buy groceries. The only point I wanted to raise was about these periodic sales that the grocery store has. One sale that caught my eye was their canned clam chowder. Clam chowder is never on sale, and I have not had any in a long time. I saw the sale tag under the cans and was ready to fill my basket with cans. I took a look at the price: $5.00 for three cans.

Was this a good price? I didn't know. I looked at the original price: $1.69 a can.

<- counts on fingers.

Hey.. the regular price for three cans was only $5.07! The sales price saves me seven cents on five dollars! Sure, it is a sale, but it really is not much of a savings. I decided to leave the cans on the shelf. (I bought some spaghetti sauce at half price though.)
