I now have to determine what I am going to do with the pictures that I have on this website. I had originally kept the pictures separated from the journal to make it easier to view the images, and reduce the bandwidth requirements for reading the entries. I have decided to move the photos off site and to use a third party to host the images since they would have a fatter pipe, and I would reduce the storage requirements for my site. Besides, there are so many free providers out there these days that I can pick and choose who I want to use. I do lose a bit of control over my images, but so long as I have the originals handy, I do not think that it would be too much of a problem. Besides, the web page will still load without them.
In addition, I will incorporate the images in with the entry. Sometimes it is easier to understand the complete story when there are visual aids in addition to the textual description. I do not think that it will be easy to make it look good (with my lack in skill), and I will have to put together some method by which the entries with images can be listed in some type of search, but I think I can do that.
Let's see how it goes huh? I estimate that it will take me a week or so to go through my old photos and decide on which images to keep and which to turf.
