[12:06 AM EST - Keep them separated.]

I am going to keep those two timestamps separated. Once I actually have a database to keep track of all of these variables, I would not have to worry about what is being stored where.

Soon, soon I hope.

Maybe I should just move the data now and worry about pulling up individual entries until after the conversion?

[1:58 PM EST - Traffic Conditions: Is it not against the law?]

I thought that there was some sort of law in place to force people to clean their cars of ice and snow before using them on the roads. In any case, this morning on the way to work, I was following traffic and came across a lot of snow pebbles (about a centimeter in diameter) all over the road. I figured that they may have come off a car of some sort, but my answer came fairly soon after that.

A few cars ahead was a small truck and trailer. The trailer was covered with snow, and every minute or so, three or four foolscap size chunks of snow and ice would fly up from the vehicle and shatter on the ground, spraying all the cars behind him with a shower of snow pellets. By the time I reached the snow cloud, most of the debris is only a foot off the ground.

I know that the large tractor trailers have that issue since it is difficult to get the snow and ice off the top of the trailer, but for cars, small vans, and small trucks?

I was exiting the highway and saw a pickup truck pass by, unloading a vast amount of snow behind him since the truck bed was full of snow. *shakes head*

[4:32 PM EST - Hockey cancelled.]

It seems as if hockey has been cancelled this weekend. Drat, I could have scheduled the bake off this weekend! Ah well..

[5:52 PM EST - A very simple solution.]

I really should have thought about it when the problem first appeared over five years ago, but I really could not find any documentation or literature about the issue that I was getting. It dawned on me this afternoon that two completely separate issues may be related, and when I tested my hypothesis, I was correct.

Double quotes can be very annoying.

[Tuesday, January 30, 2007: Give off the bake off.]

I brought a lot of the goods we made on Saturday to work so that I could get rid of them. A third of a pecan pie, several pieces of baklava, and a plate of toffee squares. (I kept the apple crumble.) I was worried that nobody would eat the pecan pie, but it seems as if KM is quite an aficionado for that stuff and he ate it all. The squares were also a hit, and only a couple remained by the end of the day, but there was still a lot of baklava remaining.

It was good, since I had planned to bring some stuff to badminton. I left some of the items with my parents, and brought a couple pieces to badminton (after cutting them up into small snack sizes). Everybody was quite surprised that I had actually made this stuff, but it was too sweet for a number of the people there. I had expected that I guess since not everyone has a sweet tooth. Not everyone was there, like the one I wanted to impress, so I might bring some more on Wednesday.

What I have remaining are: One pecan pie, six baklava halves, and a pile of apple crumble.
