[12:10 AM EST - Improving.]

I've been playing better. I just got back from broomball and I played one of my best games on the ice and in the crease (our regular goalie didn't show up so we roatated in net). I don't know why.. I guess I've got a lot of energy to use up? Funny enough, I feel tired all the time, so it's not like I've got energy to spend..

[11:14 PM EST - Empty.]

I had an entry raring to go this morning, but I had completely forgotten it. Ah well, some things are probably best left unsaid.

[11:17 PM EST - Dream Sequence: Back bump.]

I've been trying to forget this dream, which I had this past weekend, but one detail keeps invading my memory.

I don't know what I was doing at that time, but I think I was sitting with someone (some girl I think). Anyway, I was feeling sore, and BT went behind me to give me a back rub. Anyway, he found this bump on my spine halfway down my back. It was hard and very painful and he tried to knead it out. Unfortunately, no matter how hard he pressed, the bump wouldn't go a way and the pain became nigh-unbearable..

[11:39 PM EST - Microsoft workshop.]

Well, this was the first large Microsoft workshop I've ever been to. The last one I attended was actually held at the office just after I started working. Man, that was a long time ago.

The sessions themselves didn't have all that much new information in them. A lot of the security aspects that were brought up I had seen before. Mind you, a refresher is always good, especially with a memory like mine. But, due to the environment, content (which really didn't apply to any of my work), and my physical state (of constant tiredness), I was "going fishing" as HT put it.

Yes, I was nodding off. There were some interesting parts to the various sessions, but most of them related more to this site than my work. (Speaking of which, I'm going to see if I can start playing around with SSL..)

There were some strange work related issues during lunch which I had to address. I was told that there was some emergency, so I frantically called in to find out that clients had been calling in.. with non-emergencies. *shakes fist*

During lunch, LY told us a story about how he was stopped by a cop, and found out that he didn't have his license, insurance, nor owenership documents on him! I didn't make too much of a note at that time. After lunch, an announcement was made for someone to pick up a driver's license that he/she left with security. (We needed to show photo ID before we could enter the conference.) I didn't make too much of a note of that either.

During the third session, I got a call from LY who had left early from the workshop. He asked me if I could find his driver's license, because he had forgotten to pick it up from security.

I nearly died laughing (and this was during the talk as well). It was so unbelievable, but I had to check anyway. So after the talk, I went to the security counter and asked for the card. The girls behind the desk went to retrieve it thinking that it was my license. (I had to correct that misconception.) But when they finally presented the card to me, I took a look, and it was indeed LY! It was quite coincidental to say the least..

Unfortunately, by waiting for the card, we missed out on a lot of free food. The participants were quick to devour all of the pastries in the morning, and desserts in the afternoon. Man, developers can eat a lot..

Throughout the day, our group slowly made our way to the front of the room, since apparently the company was to be mentioned later in the afternoon during one of the speeches. Most of us had made it to the front by the time the last session had started. I had seen a couple of old employees at the talks, and one of them was talking with.. I don't remember who he was talking to, but anyway, he was talking off to the side and I was looking in that direction. In my field of view, I noticed someone who had a profile that was very distinct..

"FlyingS?"

He turned to face me, and lo and behold, it was indeed FlyingS! Fancy meeting him there! (Although I did figure I might bump into someone I might've recognzied as this was a free seminar.)

So I chatted with him a bit before the talk started.

Hmm.. the talks were okay. There was only one person giving them, and even though most of the information didn't really apply, the topics were ate least well presented. The keynote speech by Steve Balmer was fairly good, although I missed most of it due to the driving mixup.

I got a ride to the centre with DC but he was called to drive other people after the session, so we were stuck with SM for a ride back until they found out that they couldn't fit in DC's Prelude and decided to get SM to drive instead. (So we got a ride with DC.) I still have SM's books too..

Oh, I finally got to see DC drive. He revs high a lot. I'm still afraid to push the car, but I should be getting that oil change soon..
