[Sunday, March 31, 2002: Rochester Ho!]

The plan for today was to meet up at Tim Horton's before heading out to Rochester. Since we couldn't sign into our rooms at the hotel until 3:15, we'd have to play our first games (which for me was at 3:10) and hang around the arena until then.

I got up more-or-less on time, but because the house was so cold, I really didn't feel like taking a shower. (I found out that the thermostat was set to 15 degrees. I should've changed the settings on hindsight, but let me continue with the story.) I put on my watch and.. wait. Why is it reading 11:17? *takes closer look* Argh! It's not working! All of my stuff seems to be breaking lately.

Anyhoo, I picked up the two passengers in my car and headed to Tim's for breakfast. We got there on time and hung around until everyone else showed up (late). The directions stated taking highway 6 to Hamilton, but I felt like taking highway 8 because we were getting late and rush hour was appraching, and I wanted to take highway 8. Although highway 8 is slow, it's a much more scenic route. There is apparently a bull farm that was along the way which had a sign that read like: "No Trespassing. The bull can cross cross from one side of the yard to the other in six seconds."

We started talking about this and that but the only thing I remember was talking about getting a broad abroad. Okay, so we weren't the wittiest of guys okay? Going up and down the escarpment was really nice. The low stone walls didn't really provide with any sense of safety as we went down the cliffside, but the view of Dundas was very nice.

The drive to Rochester after that was fairly uneventful. We stuck with the directions and ended up going through customs where we met up with a cranky border guard:

"What will you be doing in Rochester?"
"We're there for a broomball tournament."
"Ah, the infamous broomball tournament."

Apparently our fame had preceeded us. (Actually we found out later that the car of foreigners went ahead of us and had a tough time getting across. At lest by the time we got there, they knew that there was a broomball tournament.)

We ended up taking all the toll routes beacuse we didn't have a map of New York state. We tried picking one up at the gas station but all they had were cigarettes and maps of Ontario. (Whod've thunk?)

As I was saying, the rest of the trip was fairly uneventful. We stopped off at BK for lunch, (Knock on wood. *knocks on cup*) made it to the arena after getting directions from the cashier, got signed in, and played our first game. The other two teams had already won their games ahead of us, and we didn't want to be the only team to lose. We were doing well, but we blew a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2. We should've won the game though. *shakes head*

Our second game didn't go much better. Let's just say that we lost 4-0. For half of our players, this was their fourth game of the day, and you could tell that they were getting tired.

Oh well. At least we were able to go back to the hotel to shower and get ready for dinner. The hotel was really nice. The atrium was huge! There were balconies at every level from which you could look down at the main lobby. It was also hot and humid in there because the hot tub and swimming pool were situated on one side of the atrium. On the other side was a games area complete with slide and couch (where apparently some visitors were using for nightime pleasures).

I took a much needed shower and realized that I had left my towel at HNT's place, and that I had forgotten to bring deodourant! Argh! Not good, not good!

There were a lot of kids around actually, and the pool was usually full of them. There were a few good looking tweens hanging around though.. *watches one slip into hot tub*

Oh, so where was I? Oh yeah, we had a free dinner for all broomball players down at the arena restaurant so a bunch of us went down for some free grub (plain pizza, wings, and Swedish meatballs). Apparently, there was a beer deal going around for each of the broomball teams. If you buy two pitchers, you get two free! So Grover ordered two pitchers, but the waitress got confused and thought that we had already ordered one (we had stolen a pitcher from the other table). So she brought out the two we had ordered, and then brought out one and a half-pitchers. (The keg went dry.) After that, she brought out ANOTHER two pitchers. What the.. *counts on fingers* Apparently she brought out an extra pitcher to make up for the half-pitcher. But she gave us two..

Anyhoo, we ended up getting five and a half pitchers of beer after ordering three and paying for one! We couldn't finish off all the beer, but she got a big tit. I mean tip.
