[Sunday, March 17, 2002: Last shift.]

I got up more-or-less on time this morning to go skiing. I had phoned in to find out when the hill was opening this morning and found out that it was opening an hour later than usual so I was able to set my alarm clock appropriately (as apposed to last week).

On the drive there, I was passed by an ambulence, a firetruck, and two cop cars. I had no idea where they were going until I came across some sort of incident off one of the side roads. I couldn't see what had happened, but since there were so many vehicles there, I didn't think my involvement was necessary.

The snow conditions weren't that great, but there weren't too many people on the hill, so we got a lot of skiing time in. I spent most of the day on the half-pipe. I got some pointers on how to attack the pipe and wanted to put some practice time in. Let's just say that I need a lot more practice. Next year then huh?

Oh yeah, I found during the middle of my shift that this was going to be the last day of operation for the hill. We were on the last shift! Yahoo! I guess I can throw away the schedule now.. *chucks schedule*

Afterward, I went home before going out to get some wine. I came across the LCBO which was near my old house but found out when I got there that the store was closed early for inventory! Argh! Fortunately, the sign on the door mentioned that there was another LCBO which was open nearby. Unfortunately, the note only mentioned the intersection, not the address. Fortunately, I was able to find it without too much of a hitch and then I was off to DeeL's place.

There was a party being held there and I figured that I should drop by. On the way down, I ran into two traffic jams. Both jams were caused by accidents. I probably could've stopped off at the first accident site to see what was happening, but I didn't see any prone bodies, so I carried on. The other one was already being cleaned up when I got there.

I had been too unaggressive with my driving and ended up missing a turn, so it took me a while before I found the correct street. Actually, I was going to miss the street except for the fact that I was stopped at an intersection due to traffic. While I was sitting there, I looked around the area and noticed a sign that showed one of the street names!

QYV thinks . o O ( Hey.. what street is this then? )

<- looks at street sign.

Doh! This was the street! *makes turn*

It's too bad I ended up on the wrong connecting street because I was too far south! Argh! I ended up parking far away from the house and walked for several minutes before making it to the party.

I had increased the party size by twenty percent. Yay. More people did arrive though, so it was fairly good.

On the way back to the car, I passed by a parked police car on the street. Curious as to why there was a cop car here and no cop, I looked at the windshield of the car in front. There was a parking ticket. I took a look at the next car. It had a ticket. So did the next one, and the next. The whole street was being given parking tickets! Alarmed, I ran down the street to where my car was parked. I ran for quite some time without coming across the cop, although I wasn't exactly looking around for one, but as I approached my parking spot, I took a look at the cars on the street. They were clean. That was a good sign. When I checked out my car, I found out that the windshield was unsullied. Whew! *wipes brow* I think I burned off a bit more karma there.
