[1:38 AM EST - Oh shoot!]

I just remembered that I had left my skis and poles outside of the hut! Argh! I hope they're still there when I get in later today..

[4:01 PM EST - Closed party.]

There was a St. Patty's/Patrol party today. I went by the local Max's to pick up some chips (it was a pot luck), and as I was driving around in the parking lot, I saw this car drive up in one of the intersecting lanes. Since I was in the main thoroughfare, he had a stop sign. But for some reason, he.. wasn't.. slowing.. down!

I had to slow down as not to hit the guy. But didn't he notice the sign? Or this vehicle that was coming up in front of him? (Hello? Right of way?) Argh! I should've honked or something, but I was in too much shock.

Anyway, on the way out to the party I was driving along at a pretty good clip and this car coming in the opposite direction flashed me with his high beams a few times. Strange. The only times when someone gets flashed if their high beams are up or if..

I took my foot off the accelerator and slowed down under the legal limit just in time to see a cop hidden behind a ridge on the side of the road. Whew! *wipes brow*

[Burger up!]

To celebrate the end of the ski season, we had an end-of-season St. Patrick's day patrol party at the hill. It was serendipitous that we held it that day since the hill had just closed.

Food was provided mostly through pot luck, but someone had brought along a BBQ so that we could serve some hamburgers and sausages as well.

Jason's manning the BBQ.

The party was pretty good. I found out that my skis were still there (more karma burned) and I quickly put them in a safe place. The guys are a riot, and there was a lot of (pretty good) food to go around. I took a lot of pictures, but I didn't have a flash so I'm not sure if they're going to come out well or not. We'll have to see I guess.

I found out that cop cars these days have radars facing forward and backward so that they can find out the speed of the car that's tailing them. I'll keep that filed away somewhere. *writes note on palm*

On the way back home, I was chugging along one of the country roads and as I approached an intersection, I saw a police car coming in on the intersecting street. I was going well over the limit, so I tried to slow down as much as possible without Letting him see my brake lights. Unfortunately for me, he turned into the street and started following me. I was already well ahead, but I didn't want to pull away so I reduced my speed to a little over the limit. Too bad he was going slowly as well. *tugs at collar* So there I was, chugging along slowly on a country road with a police car going at the speed limit in visual distance. This went on for several minutes until I came up to a traffic light where the cop pulled up next and passed me (when the light turned green).

Thinking that the incident was over, I started driving behind this other guy who must've noticed the cop because he wasn't going very fast either. Well, the cop pulls in front of the car ahead of me.. and then the lights went on. *heart rate increasing*

A few seconds passed by where I was wondering if the cop was using that rear radar thing, when he made a U-turn and went back to the intersection to drive away. *wipes brow yet again*

I've been seeing a lot of police around recently haven't I?

[11:32 PM EST - Another birthday.]

I went to a birthday dinner for my uncle. Not too much to talk about. Saw a lot of people I haven't seen in months, and ate a lot of food (on top of the mounds of snackables I had for lunch). I think I need more water.
