[9:45 AM EST - Dream Sequence: Job interview.]

There was a long dream I had this morning which I can remember parts of. One part was quite vivid and is probably the reason why I can still recall the ending of this dream.

I was on my way around town. It seemed like I was in a city like Vancouver, with the dreary gray skies and open roads. I can't remember if I was driving or not, but I got out of the vehicle and started walking. There was a lady walking her dog in front of me, and as I approached, she turned around and warned me to stop stalking her or she'd call the police. I had no idea what she was talking about because I didn't recognize her, and I certainly didn't recognize her dog. So I let the incident pass and hurried towards the meeting spot.

I found myself in some sort of open city area, like some urban park, where there was a large concrete covered field dominated by a tall tower. The tower was made of steel, concrete and glass. It was very open and so high up that I started suffering from 'acrophobia'. I needed to make my way down to the ground though, so I started working my way down the stairs, trying not to look out (which was nigh-impossible with the glass walls and open floor).

I was only able to go down one flight of stairs before I was rescued by some lady who I was supposed to have an interview with. She brought me to a medium sized office where we sat down and she asked me some questions. After a while, she told me about the stuff that I was supposed to do and told me the salary. I was surprised at how much they were going to give me, but I wasn't assured of getting this job, it was only an interview.

After the interview was over, I realized that I was only in my underwear. I had no idea how my clothes came off, but I was feeling very self conscious even though nobody else in the office paid any heed. I stood with the rest of the interviewees and the guy next to me mentioned that I wasn't wearing anything. I looked down and realized that he was right. I was completely naked!

I grabbed my pants from the floor and quickly tried to pull them up while the lady interviewer was deciding on who to hire. I had the pants halfway up when she handed me the green card indicating that I was hired. I wasn't sure if I should take the card or zip up.

I took the card.

The office was full of mostly Asian people, and the interviewer was Chinese. Her accent made it difficult to understand what she was talking about, so when she told me what I was supposed to do, I couldn't really catch what she was saying. I didn't care too much because I could wing my way through.

One of the (only non Asian female) secretaries (who was quite an attractive blond) talked to me for a bit before I looked around for some place to sit. I was wondering if I was supposed to work here now or if I could go and give in my two weeks notice. That's when MB wandered in suddenly. I had no idea how I was found here!

[11:34 AM EST - Chain Links: Zelda commercial.]

Oi, this old commercial is pretty bad. I found the link on HaremPresident's blog.

[1:44 PM EST - Yummy Nostoc flagelliforme.]

I found out a few years ago that "fat choi" was not a seaweed (as I had been led to believe) but was actually a type of moss. In fact, it grows in the desert and has been over harvested so there was a ban on it for many years.

[5:36 PM EST - Caveat Lector: Gift Certificates.]

Hmm, I got e-mail from an unknown person asking me to got to this site to get a free gift certificate. This was very similar to LY's drive to get a free X-box 360 last year. I declined to participate.

[5:44 PM EST - Did someone press CTRL-A?]

Hmm, the CTRL-A website went down, and now they're running on life support right now. Seems like they need a new server. Well, I do have an extra computer lying around..

[Friday, February 3, 2006: That's a lot of data.]

I spent most of last night transferring files from Thebes to Mycenae. I can't recall how much data was being transferred (I'd guess at sixty some odd gigabytes), but it took quite some time for the information to get sent over my little network.

I had to cannibalize some of the cables so that I could get my new machine hooked up to the network and usable. There's very little space under my desk right now.

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with all of these computers. Ideally I'll only have two: My main computer and the server. Indeed a third backup computer could be kept, but it'll just take up space.

Ah well, the only thing about the server is that it shouldn't be too loud, which means that Thebes is out. Heck, my new PC is much quieter than the server, and it's only got the power supply fan (the CPU fan is quiet). I'm tempted to turn my C300A system into the server, but will it be as stable as my trusty old P200? What to do.. what to do..

I've installed Knights of the Old Republic 2 now that I've got a machine capable of running it. Fear and Call of Duty 2 are next on the list.
