[6:13 PM EDT - Tired and sore.]

Oh boy, I'm my neck hurts and I'm sore all over. I'm taking a break in between the wedding ceremony and the reception. There were a good number of people at the ceremony, but not as many as there could've been (I'd say about one third of the church was filled up, but it was a pretty darned big church!)

I went out to lunch with MN, DM, and JW's wife. (I forgot her name already!) Then I came home as I planned to go to DeeL's parent's place to lounge for a bit, but they weren't doing anything so I stayed here.

I should get going. Dinner will be served soon.

[Sunday, August 29, 2004: A reception spectacle.]

I arrived at the reception a little later than planned, but I was still there before the food was served and (apparently) more than half of the other guests. Mind you, seeing as 550 people were invited to the wedding and reception, I wasn't sure if everyone would show up. (I would find out later that basically everyone did. Free food would do that.)

I ended up seeing a couple of people I didn't expect to be there: KK and CY!

The restaurant was packed. There were so many people there, and I didn't recognized even a small fraction of them. My guess is that most of the people there probably didn't know most of the other guests either.

It was all good though. The way dinner started off was pretty.. interesting. The reception was like a cross between a game show and talk show. The members of the head table were announced and they walked into the room with great fanfare as their name was broadcasted to the audience. Once dinner was announced, the speaker began blaring out YMCA and waiters and waitresses walked out in unison (and to the beat) setting up tables and bringing out dishes in some sort of choreographed manner. It was one giant spectacle.

There was one nice bit where the groom went onto a radio talk show and basically admityed that he was a momma's boy. (They played the original Cantonese broadcast.)

Well, I'd go on, but there are probably going to be other sites detailing that night, so I won't go into the specifics. Our group got fairly tired after dinner, and since the music they played was geared towards the older crowd, we headed out. Stonaday, OMok, DeeL, KH and I went over to DeeL's parent's place to hang for a bit. We played some poker with MasterStorm (I got killed) before I headed home.
