[Monday, August 23, 2004: The plan was simple enough.]

I was supposed to get up early this morning, drop my car off for it's 16K checkup, and go shopping for some mints and some sort of suede protector.

Well, that was the plan. At least I got up early. I dropped my car off and asked them for a quote on the chip on the windshield. I then went to look for some cleats and get some Optimum points. I wandered in to the SDM looking for those mints and came up empty. So I decided to use that coupon for the bonus Optimum points. I brought the stuff to the counter, and the cashier started ringing in the items. Just as she finished, she asked for my optimum card..

<- sifts through wallet.

Uh oh. I had taken my rewards cards out of my wallet a few months back because I rarely ever used them and they really take up a lot of space in there. I figured that I should be able to plan ahead and take them along with me when I'll be expecting to use them. Well.. apparently I can't plan ahead. I had left all my cards at home, and since my car was being looked at..

She started ringing things back into the till, stapled the coupon back together, and handed it back to me. I hung my head and headed out of the store.

I did a bit more shopping (to kill time) and picked up a pair of cleats. Again, I was reaching in for my rewards card and felt stupid yet again. This time I decided to take the shoes because, well, I really did need the cleats.

I got a call that my car was done (it was pretty quick) and so after making a call I headed home. I had invited girl out to lunch because I wanted Pokey to see her so that we could conclude our "petite" debate. She invited Dangerman, and Dangerman invited the usual suspects, but what suprised me the most was when I found out this morning that girl invited out the parental units! LY was invited as well and this little lunch turned into something a lot bigger. Not everyone showed up though. In fact, we only had six people show up to lunch (which included my family).

Lunch was okay, although I was really the only person who was eating. Afterward, we went our separate ways, or so it seemed..

[Tuesday, August 24, 2004: I gotta work on the execution.]

After lunch we weren't sure what to do. So we ended up going to my place since we needed an internet connection to find these stores.

Dangerman and the rest of the family were there. So it's as if we all went back to my place. girl was going to the spa with my mom, so Dangerman hooked up with us to figure out what to do for the rest of the day. We had no luck finding those stores in our area (they were all downtown) so we settled on watching 'The Manchurian Candidate'. Unfortunately, we still had the rest of the day to kill. So after calling around and brainstorming, we decided to go and eat ice cream, throw the disc around, head downtown to watch a movie, and then eat dinner.

We picked up Laz before heading out. The place was a little busy, but we were able to get our ice cream. Mine cost over five bucks! That was highway robbery! *shakes fist*

While eating our ice cream, Laz bought a pack of cards and we played several rounds of big 2 before heading off to throw the disc around. LY showed up and we decided to head downtown. By then, girl had made it back home, so the three of us (Dangerman was included) drove downtown. Laz wasn't sure if he wanted to watch the movie so he went on his own.

Our group met up at the theatre and I found that the movie was.. okay. It wasn't fantastic. I would like to see the original at some point in time though.

After the movie, the bunch of us went to eat at some seafood restaurant (I forgot the name already). The food was pretty good, and we arrived basically at happy hour. Laz and Pops showed up soon enough and we all chowed down on a lot of seafood.
