[Monday, September 6, 2004: Movies abound.]

I got up a little late for practice, so I had to rush down. I still made it at a respectable time, although I had to drive. I think it worked out in the end though.

As I approached the field, I thought I saw someone I recognized getting into a car. I got closer and shouted his name. It was JY! Apparently he was showing off the campus or something. A lot of frosh were milling about and he was there.. Actually, I can't remember why he was there. I was just surprised to see him there.

The practice went fairly well. there weren't all that many people, but it was the long weekend so I didn't expect to see all that many people anyway. The practice was short, so we got out early for breakfast. We went to a different restaurant from before (I can't remember the name of the place). The food was yummy at least.

Afterward, I found out that I got a call from Dangerman asking me if I was still up for a movie, and I found out that I had lots of time on hand before Growly showed up. So I went to his place and we played pool and ping-pong for a little while. There was also some House of the Dead 2 and I got to see 'Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels'. It's quite an entertaining film. You can see how things just come together in that movie. (Like that flaming guy you completely forget about until later in the movie.)

Growly showed up eventually, and we headed to watch 'Hero'. It's a good movie. The fight scenes are well done and the imagery is stunning. The use of colour and motion, not to mention the backgrounds and weather were well done. It's a very visually oriented movie. Although you'd have to suspend your belief quite a bit, it's still quite fathomable.

Afterward, we went out for dinner and had another rousing game of House of the Dead 2 before watching the beginning of 'Return of the Dragon'. Then I headed home.
