[9:16 AM EDT - Nice yet again.]

Ahh, it's yet another nice day we've got here. I've been gradually shifting my sleep times earlier and earlier, but I'm still going to bed past midnight. (Mind you, considering that I went to sleep at four last week it's a definite improvement.) Hopefully I'll be able to force myself into bed at a respectable time by next week.

[1:46 PM EDT - Fused Quartz.]

Hmm.. fused quartz is basically glass is it not? So something like this quartz globe is just a fancy glass globe?

(Okay, fused quartz is a type of glass, but you know what I mean when I say "glass".)

[Sunday, April 18, 2004: Two hockey games.]

The plan for tonight was for me to meet up with DC at the bar at six so that we had plenty of time to get good seats for the game. Unfortunately, I got caught up with work (a phone call) and didn't get out until way past six. Fortunately, DC was already there and had some good seats for us.

The rest of our group slowly filtered into the bar, and we had a fairly cute waitress who (for some reason) convinced us to take the chicken fajitas in the order that she screwed up (DC had ordered chicken fingers).

The Leafs won the game of course, and we quickly headed down to the rink after we had paid off the bill. The timing was pretty good actually, as we were ready a few minutes before the ice was cleaned.

The game was okay, although I didn't play all that well. I screwed up a couple of times, and the game ended up in a tie. In the shootout, I got our only goal. Speed helps it seems.

After the game, one of the guys asked me,

"Were you thinking of [our waitress] when you made that breakaway shot?"

Uh.. no. Actually, I wasn't thinking at all..

A bunch of us went out for food afterward. Coincidentally enough, it was everybody who watched the game at the bar came out to eat plus OC.

Oh yeah, there was some drunkard lying down in front of one of the stores in that mall. I was surprised to see a sight like that in the suburbs. He was gone by the time we were finished dinner, but he left a little present before he disappeared.
