[11:05 AM EST - Going to work.]

I don't have time to update right now since I have to show up at a client site to do a bit of work. Hopefully I'll have time when I get back to do a couple of things and do a fair bit of cleaning up.

[4:09 PM EST - Closed for the holidays.]

I wanted to get my hair cut before the housewarming party tonight, but I came across a note on the salon near my house that stated that the place would be closed on the 23rd to the 25th. Curses! *shakes fist*

I guess I'll show up with a mop on my head..

[4:12 PM EST - I need a wash.]

I need to wash my car. Hopefully I'll remember before I head down tonight.

The work thing went okay. Not a whole lot faster, but hopefully it won't slow down now.

[4:14 PM EST - Chores.]

Argh, I'm forgetting what I'm supposed to be doing. I've got laundry in the washer, a CD to burn, I've agreed to tutor next Saturday, I got invited (by Laz) to join orkut, and.. I got a turn to play.

I hope I didn't forget anything.

[4:16 PM EST - Night patrol.]

Oh yeah, last night's patrol was fairly quiet. However, it was commented that my closing sweep was one of the longest in the hill.. *hangs head*

[8:17 PM EST - Burn's complete.]

The CD's done and laundry's neary finished. I don't think I'll be able to wash the car today, but I'll see if I can get it done tomorrow. I'll get my hair cut on.. hmm. I'll aim for Tuesday. MS wants to go snowboarding next Tuesday, but I think a bit of broomball is in order no?

[8:23 PM EST - Reality check.]

Well. Now I know why the first thing that came to mind was fear. No more excuses, no more delays, no more reason not to conclude this..

The future is now uncertain, although I'm fairly certain what the future holds. But either way.. either way the road won't ever lead back here.

[8:31 PM EST - Balmy chap.]

Hmm.. this stuff tastes funny. I should be done with laundry soon, and the CD sounds okay so far, so I should be heading out by nine. A little late, but hey, when the heck am I ever early?

[8:33 PM EST - The legend is.. gone?]

Hmm, I forgot to mention one thing I noticed a number of weeks ago. My mom (who else?) came into my room and stealthily wandered off with most of my ripped jeans. My wardrobe has suddenly shrunk to about half it's size! (Pantswise.) Now what the heck am I going to wear for ultimate?

[Sunday, January 25, 2004: Driving Conditions: Crashing the party.]

On the way to the party, I got onto the highway and then hit a sudden traffic jam. I had no idea what had happened since all the vehicles in front of me were larger than me. But when the cars cleared away, I saw that there was a multiple car accident so I pulled over to see if I could help.

The first guy I saw came up to me and I told him that I was trained in first aid and if he needed help. Then he asked me,

"Are you a cop?"

Uhh.. no. I reitterated that I was trained in first aid, and he asked me if I could help him get out of there. I said "Sorry" and went to see if there was anyone who was hurt. There was a couple from the second car, but they looked okay. I went to the third car and it was full of girls. The driver told me that one of her passengers was hurt, but that she was being tended by someone trained in first aid. So I wandered over to see if I could help, but it didn't seem serious.

I hung around long enough for one of the tow truck drivers to tell us that the driver from the first car was running away from the accident site. He pointed to a dark figure fleeing up the off ramp near the accident and all I could do was shake my head.

The fire truck arrived and I decided that it was time for me to go. There wasn't anything else for me to do.

[Wednesday, January 28, 2004: Cold house warming.]

I arrived at the party around ten, and by then it was pretty packed. Actually, there were two parties going on. One upstairs with the guys, while there was one downstairs with the girls. I was part of the downstairs group although there was a lot of mingling between the two groups.

I ended up seeing more people there that I recognized than I had anticipated, although there were quite a number of faces that I didn't know. Most of the people I knew were either from ultimate, or from previous parties. But one face from the past appeared from nowhere. EK! Son of a motherless goat! I hadn't seem that boy for many, MANY years, and to see him here out of all places..

Well, the girls did have quite a wide range of acquaintances so I probably shouldn't have been surprised to see someone I knew from a totally different facet of life.

Oh, I also met some girl who came from Texas. In fact, she came from the same small town that I went to visit for work! Who would've thunk? I forgot her name though, so I feel bad about that.

I spent most of my time downstairs, as the main floor always seemed to be packed with people, and there was seating in the basement. However, one could feel the cold air roll down the stairs everytime someone opened the front door, so it did get quite chilly after a while.

I stayed basically to the end, and was the last one to leave the house that night (from that group, the rest crashed).

It was an interesting party, and I realized something that I knew would happen some day. It took me until the next day for me to figure everything out, which is funny because if I was even thinking rationally, I probably wouldn't even be there. I probably would've been playing hockey, and given up months ago..

Stupid irrational thoughts.
