I got word from BSB that the trip thing is probably a no-go. That's okay I guess. I only had three weeks to prepare anyway.

I found the chess font I was looking for. Too bad it's not free. This one called XKnightMares is close, but also not free.
Then I came across this site on doing what I was thinking of doing, but they have their own software.
Ah well, at least now I know what font I'd like to use, and what font I'll probably use.

Well, I ended up with a ticket on my way to work. "Improper muffler" is the offense. Oops. I guess I should've gotten it fixed sooner huh? Well, apparently if I get it fixed, I can fight this ticket. But then again, I'll have to spend time to go to my day in court, yada yada. Ah well, at least I'll know what it's like. Hmm.. I've got fifteen days..

I was driving north and saw this cop who had pulled someone over. Everyone had slowed down (as normal) and I didn't make much of it. When I looked into the rear view mirror, I saw the cop pull a U-turn and started coming north with our convoy of cars. being the last car, he came up right behind me. In the back of my mind, I was wondering what the cop was thinking about my low riding, loud rumbling, muffler. The fact that the guy started tailgating me set off my spider senses and right after a stop sign, I saw the lights go on. Great.
So I pulled over. I was thinking, "He wouldn't be pulling me over because of the stop right? It MUST be the muffler." So when he came up to the door, he asked,
"Why is your muffler so loud?"
Being a rhetorical question, I decided to let him answer. So he continued talking about the muffler. Eventually, he asked for my driver's license and vehicle registration and went back to his cruiser.
After a little while, he came back telling me that he was going to give me a ticket for the muffler. But there was good news. "What's the good news?" I asked. He told me that if I went to court and had the muffler fixed, he'd check it out and drop the charges. So there you have it. I've got a deadline to fix the muffler now. *sigh*
That's a good thing right?

I had a couple of defunct 3.5" floppy disks lying around and Laz mentioned that you could make a model of the starship Enterprise, so I did a search and came up with a floppy Bird of Prey.

I ended up with some sort of Korean Karaoke machine. Umm.. I have no idea what to do with it, but I guess I'll play around with it.
I also got hold of a few case fans. Let's see if I can cool Yavin down a bit..
Oh yeah, I'm going to see if I can swipe a few old hard drives (sub 8GB but still more than usefull since I've got a combined total of 21GB in my three computers).

Out of the four motherboards I pilfered, I found out that the two 430TX boards were pooched, but the power supply works in the case (barely) and the FX board works with it's P133, while the VX board works the the P200-MMX (after a bit of coaxing - and realizing that there was no such thing as a P110-MMX).
Thanks to help from these additional sites: CPU id, and Soyo.
I'll probably just dump the two 430TX boards. I still have those four CD-ROMs to test, and I'll probably go back to look for RAM (which I really don't have), a better case, NICs, and video cards. (I threw out an M3D because it sucked, but I only had a Trident here! Actually, maybe the Trident's better.) There were other TX boards which I haven't checked yet. Maybe I'll go back and test them out as well.
Once I have some time, I'll probably upgrade BEGghILOS2 to a P200-MMX, and if I get the extra hard drive, that should make the system a little bit more useful, although RAM would probably make the biggest difference.
(But what am I going to do with all of these P133s?)
