[5:14 PM EST - What's for dinner?]

I've got to get around to making dinner tonight. I'm not sure what to whip together, but I'm not particularly hungry ATM so I did some surfing. Tiffi's got something up which you may want to check out. I have yet to hear about this on the news, although it might only be shown locally. In any case, it makes you wonder (at least it makes me wonder) how or why kids would do these things? I mean, the kids who robbed that volunteer last week was bad enough, but this? Are they all becoming amoral or something? No, clearly not. But there are quite a number of rotten apples out there. What can we do about them?

Or is it better to ask: What can we do for them?

I had some unconstructive comments here, but I'm removing them, except to say that sometimes the death penalty isn't such a bad thing.

What they should definitely do, is block any publishing or broadcasting of the killer's image until after she is convicted, assuming she is. After that, one photo should be made available. Media coverage is probably making her a "star" in her feeble little mind.

(When did I turn conservative, anyway?)

My question is how we can make her understand the severity of her crime. I mean, if she doesn't think she did anything wrong, or if her mind is in lala land, there really is no punishment that would suffice. (Smiled at the camera, yeesh.)
