After finishing off some skirmishes against the computer in Cataclysm, I decided to continue with cleaning up my (still quite messy) room. While I was going through some of the books that I never read, I came across "The Puppet Masters" by sci-fi great Heinlein. (Who I was told made a bet with Hubbard to see who could be the first to create a new religion. Someone please confirm.)
With the tone already seat by Cataclysm, I figured that I might as well dive right in. I hope to finish the book in a couple of days..

Too bad the Puppet Masters movie didn't include "Operation Bareback".. that would've been interesting.
Regarding Hubbard and Heinlein making a bet, I think that's apocryphal. Check _Grumbles From The Grave_ (a book of Heinlein's letters) to confirm, or visit alt.fan.heinlein and ask around (i forget the FAQ address).
Heinlein _did_ sort of create a social movement and sort of a religion after his novel _Stranger In a Strange Land_ was published though. Many 60s hippies started "grokking" stuff and "sharing water".

It might be apocryphal, but I like that story. You have to admit that they both did very well. :)
