On the way back from dinner, I saw an earth mover pushing snow around on the highway. It looked like it was trying to make more space on the road as the shoulders were clogged with snow from last weekend's storm. I am guessing that all of the streets have been cleared of snow by now and they have the manpower to do a better job of clearing some of this stuff so that the roads are a little less congested.
When I was heading down my street, I noticed something similar. One side of the road was closed, and I noticed that the large drifts of snow that had been covering the parking spots on the side of the street were mostly gone. They were actually trucking the snow away! Where to, I do not know, but with the amount of snow that was piled up down my street, they probably could have covered the nearby ski hill with an ample base that should last the rest of the season!

We had our office Christmas party tonight at a restaurant that was near by the other other restaurant we went to last year. I arrived a little late, but part of it was because traffic was terrible, and parking was nigh-impossible to find. I was able to find people, but the restaurant had regular patrons as well as our party (which was stuck in between groups of regular customers) so it was a little crowded.
We took over a little alcove on one side of the room, and got settled in. The food was okay. The soup was fantastic, but the salmon was pretty bland. The drinks were free, but since I did not drink alcohol, I could not really take advantage of this perk. Since there were no prizes awarded this year, I ended up losing out on getting anything this year. I did, however, order several shots of 'Hennessy' XO for others at my table because they did not want to look like lushes, and were afraid to order the really expensive liquors. Once I found out that there was some 'Johnnie Walker' Blue Label, I ordered a double shot of that too, but by then my companions were pretty much done for the night and we gave the alcohol away.
On hindsight, we probably could have poured the drinks into something and walked away with it, but it would not have helped me much since I do not drink.
I stayed until the end, which was around ten when our dining area was turned into a dance floor. The patrons turned from your average middle aged crowd to a more twenty something type clubbing atmosphere, and I knew that it was time for me to go.
It was fun though.
