[6:18 PM EST - Driving Conditions: I was wondering why I heard a chopper.]
There must have been a serious accident on the highway of a chopper comes flying around for a long time. There were a number of emergency vehicles on the highway near our office.

[8:32 PM EST - Persimmon for dinner.]
My dad had a box of 'Persimmon' at his place which he brought out when I came over on Monday. He wanted to give me a whole bunch of fruit, but I was a little wary, having never knowingly consumed any of this tomato lookalike before. He seemed quite enthused about giving me at least one, so I grudgingly accepted a single fruit. He then told me how to eat it:
"Wait a couple of days for it to ripen. When it feels soft, you can eat it. Take off the top, open it up and eat everything inside."
Everything inside?
"Everything inside."
What about the seeds?
"No seeds."
Uh huh. He also told me that it was sweet. Goody.
Well, I am always up for trying something new. So I checked the fruit, and it felt very soft, and so I opened it. Huh, what a strange looking fruit. It does not taste bad, although I am not the greatest fan of the taste.
I wonder what kind of fruit my dad will give me next week?
