[9:01 PM EST - I forgot to add Family day.]

Oh hey, I was trying to organize events in February and had forgotten about 'Family Day'. It may mean that we have an extra long weekend to plan for. I wonder if those hotel planners took that into account?

[11:01 PM EST - Storm and party.]

Well, we got hit by a fairly heavy winter storm today. When I got up this morning, I looked out the window to see a hazy white sky. Visibility was pretty close to nil, and I had a party to attend. I was pretty sure that the roads were a mess, and after my last fiasco with driving in snow (albeit with summer tires), I was not looking forward to driving in this weather. Fortunately, Garfield was also heading to the party and he was online, so I gave him a shout and he was planning on showing up at the party. Since he had four wheel drive, I decided to bum a ride off of him instead.

The drive was indeed pretty crazy, but I am pretty sure I would have had fun driving around because by the time I left the condo, the skies had cleared a bit and the snow stopped falling. The roads were still covered though and there were so many cars on the road that had slid out, got stuck, or were just plain slow. On top of that, nobody was following any lanes (except maybe some tracks in the snow) and on a nominally five lane stretch of highway, we had at most two cars side by side. It was quite rare to see two cars next to each other on the roads or highways because nobody was willing to trust the other driver not to slide into their own vehicle. Heck, we watched as a rear wheel drive car was painfully slip sliding it's way up a very steep hill. We could not get around it because it was fish tailing so much that it was dangerous to be anywhere near it!

The party itself was pretty good. Considering that there were originally thirty people who had reserved, the fact that we had around twenty four people show up (from every corner of the city) just proves to show how much of a pull Windelynn has on this group. (Not to mention the beats we would get if we did not show up.)

I certainly stuffed myself, and I also took part in the gift exchange. My gift was chosen last (mostly because I did not get around to wrapping it). However, the gift I selected was a box. Inside the box was a Burton snowboard hat and some ski/snowboard wax. (Neither of which I really needed.) It was promptly stolen from me, and then it was stolen again several more times. (It was quite a popular gift!) I ended up with a multi-tool instead, which I hope will be more practical than the hat and wax would have been.

Afterward, we stopped by Seven's place to fix Garfield's computer, and then he dropped me back at my place.

Because of the storm, broomball was canceled tonight. Yay! I should get some sleep soon. It might be a long day tomorrow..
