[12:05 PM EST - Working on the printer.]

So I finally got the printer working on the network. I looked up on some forums and found out how I could install the driver using a compatible driver, as well as using CUPS to manage the printer (which was not working because it was not running).

Now all I need to do is to get MJNL's laptop working with it, reboot everything to make sure that nothing breaks and everything should be good!

[12:31 PM EST - Hard drive works too.]

Oh, I was able to get the external hard drive working on the network too, mostly with help from this thread as well as help from this thread to figure out how to get write permissions to the hard drive. The only problem now is to figure out how to get the hard drive to be automatically detected when I turn it off and on.

[11:37 PM EST - Need more time off.]

I do not seem to have enough time off to do enough stuff productive.

I got up late this morning because I really needed the sleep. I ended up working on the network printer issue since I was able to get the network hard drive issue resolved. That took a couple of hours to figure out, but I was unable to come up with a good solution for automatically detecting the hard drive if I had to turn it off. It seems as if I would need to unmount the drive before I had it removed, and what I wanted to do was to have it automatically unmount and mount each time the device was turned off an on. The second problem was that I did not know which device name it would use, so hard coding the fstab entry will not always work. Ah well, it just needs a bit more research I guess.

I also did some on line shopping for some stuff that I needed to get, like memory, replacement ink for the printer, and a card reader.

I had enough time to make some maple baklava for tomorrow's party.

Oh, and Laz came by to drop off a present: Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. I really enjoyed the original when I played it five years ago. So far, I am already disliking the interface. I hope it gets better.

I went to my parent's to eat dinner and pick up some food, and I was able to watch some Family Guy and 'Shrek the Third' and 'Shrek the Halls'. Entertaining to say the least.
