[Sunday, December 30, 2007: 70% chance of PWNAGE.]

I spent most of the day finishing off Neverwinter Nights 2 with Laz and MJO. It felt good to complete the game, even though the ending was terrible. I decided not to warn them about the end, but their reactions were pretty much the same as mine.

We do plan on continuing with Mask of the Betrayer, but Derelict was interested in rejoining the adventure, although the problem for the winter (or curling season to be exact) is that his only free time is Monday nights. On top of that, I plan on spending more time with MJNL on the weekends, so we may need to take a hiatus for a few months before we begin this new quest.

Other ideas that were thrown about by MJO and Laz was to join in on one of the many 'MMO' games that are currently floating around on the net. The first obvious choice was World of Warcraft, but other ideas included Lord of the Rings Online and EVE Online.

My major worry was that we would not actually have many opportunities to get together to play, and for a paid subscription that is rarely used, it seems like a waste of money. Secondly, I really worry about spending too much time playing these games just to justify the cost of the service, which means that it will be more of a burden as any free time I do have will go into character building or whatnot.

In any case, there is no need to rush a decision. We still have plenty of time.

In other news, our for game for this hockey series was tonight. Since I was chosen as captain for one of the teams, I had to pick the team, team name, and alternate captains. Since my opponent has not played with us for very long, he probably didn't understand how strong some of the players were, but I ended up with a pretty strong team on paper. In the end, the powers that be made a couple of trades to balance out the teams: once before the lists were given out, and once before the game. This resulted in a very closely contested game that went into a shootout. We all like closely contested games.

Oh yes, the team name I chose was "70% chance of PWNAGE", which was chosen because weather forecasters tend to round to the closest 10%, which meant that 69% would not have worked. Of course, when I told JF the team name, he only wrote down the last word: 'Pwnage', which was promptly questioned by the other players in the league, since it does not seem as if any of them have played online games before.

Ah well, with the trades, the name is not as apt, but I hope we have a fun series nonetheless!
